HELP ME FIND A JOB!!!! - JustinG - 04-08-2008

Just wondering some good companies to work for, in the Richmond area. Didn't know if any of you would have any ideas. Ive applied for numerous jobs, but no luck yet.

Phillip Morris?

- Jeff - 04-08-2008

I need a full time man-whore.

- WRXtranceformed - 04-08-2008

If you'd have an interest in getting into the insurance industry, Liberty probably has an opening in Richmond. Working for an insurance company is fun because they have deep pockets Tongue

- Dave - 04-08-2008

What kind of job are you looking for?

- Jeff - 04-08-2008

Any job involving Man-whoring.

- John - 04-08-2008

Wait, you don't have an established job and you are preparing to close on a house?

to be fair, this is Richmond, where houses cost less than your truck

btw Justin it might help if you listed your degree

- WRXtranceformed - 04-08-2008

They probably qualified on his fiance's income / assets.

have we not learned by now that qualifying != affording?

Mortgage is all on my Fiancee who is established in her job and next in line for a management position with Ameriprise. Basically, she is making bank. If I make $40k coming out we can easily afford it, I don't see a problem pulling that out of college.

I have....

BBA: Management
Concentration: Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Minor: Human Resource Development

Looking for a Job in Sales or HR/Recruiting, preferable Recruiting

O yeah a sugar mama.

You want a job in HR? You realize that they're the devil.

Then why does this thread exist?

- HAULN-SS - 04-08-2008

heh. I know of a few jobs in the DC area, but nothing coming to mind in richmond.

And a side note - it seems like the thread we had a while back about housing must've struck a chord with a bunch in MM, with those in favor of buying winning..heh

- G.Irish - 04-08-2008

Off the top of my head I Capital One comes to mind but they are probably not going to be hiring due to the economy. You might wanna check out RIR, you never know what kind of cool opportunity could come up from there. There are some other big financial institutions with offices in Richmond (Wachovia and SunTrust I think) but again they may not be good places to go right now.

Here's a list of the largest employers in Richmond: http://intranet.grpva.com/intranet/WEB2 ... _r_txt.asp

Not really. You don't see anybody buying a house in Northern Virginia do you? No one was really arguing against buying a house in a market that did not have a silly price boom the way Nova has. If I could buy a house like Justin's around here for the price he paid I probably would've bought one.

- HAULN-SS - 04-08-2008

I see your point, but I think all metro areas were generally affected in a similar way. Richmond has had 60% appreciation over the last 5 years. Also - none of us are at a point in life we could buy in nova, even at drastically reduced prices, so i dont think that's a fair argument. Anyway..we should revive the housing thread if we got too deep in there.

cause i don't wanna just make 40k, i could do that as a manager at like lowes or something, but completely hate my job. Im just asking if people know of any good places to work in the richmond area

- TheDudeAbides - 04-08-2008

have you put your resume on CL yet?
