Another New Abode, MM House Richmond - JustinG - 04-04-2008

Well since everyone else is posting up their new Crib I got jealous and decided to purchase one of my own, well our own rather. Casey (My Fiancee ) and I decided to put a bid in on a house Tuesday, Wednesday around noon they accepted the offer, Thursday paperwork was signed. We close mid May, housewarming party to follow.

Located on Quioccasin Rd, Henrico, VA. Located about 5 min from the Short Pump mall for those of you familiar with Richmond.

Specs, 4 bedroom, 3 bath, 2068 sq/ft, whole house was renovated by a contractor and all it needs is a Fridge, Washer and Dryer. Well prob throw some gas logs in the fireplace, since it has a natural gas heater already.

On with the pics, these are from the interwebs, my dad took some pics for me today and is supposed to be emailing me them tomorrow.

Now that ive gotta future wife and a house, i gotta get this whole job thing figured out. Casey wont accept my offer of being a "House Husband"

Nice garage.

Do yourself a favor and don't get a gas fireplace... they suck and they're expensive to use. I'm having dejavu... wish I could find that other thread.

Did you pay more or less than the Zestimate? Wink

sounds good, i dunno how often we would even use it, but thanks for the input, we have gas logs at my parents place, and its hardly ever used unless the electricity goes out in the winter.

Paid more than the zestimate, but we really wanted the house and another couple was bringing their parents in to look at the house on Thursday so we had to move fast. Didn't want the place scooped out from under us like another house we looked at. House was listed at $252 then dropped to $244 on the 10th of March. For what we paid I think we got a good deal, seller was trying to jew us on the closing costs but we prevailed on that as well

Very cool. Congrats. I wouldn't invite us. We'd just tape bangbus on the side of your house.

- JustinG - 04-04-2008

- JustinG - 04-04-2008

yo, did i see you at festival tonight, i thought i saw you roll up on your scooter thingy. But wasn't sure.

- Steve85 - 04-04-2008

Congrats! Very Nice...4BR 2068sq ft...whatever happen to the starter house

And a real 2 car garage. Room for two cars and everything else that belongs in the garage.

When the housing numbers come out they are going to have to remove the MM influence to get an accurate read.

- HAULN-SS - 04-04-2008

grats. Some muriatic acid as discussed in RJs thread will remove that runoff deposit from your brick that came off hte old, i'm guessing, aluminum siding.

- JustinG - 04-04-2008

yea, that will be taken care of asap

- Mike - 04-04-2008

You're the first person I've hear say that.

They're pretty inefficient at heating a room when you consider the recent increase in fuel pricing.

We been in our house for nearly two years and have used our gas fireplace a grand total of 3, maybe 4, times.

- .RJ - 04-04-2008

We have a gas fireplace... like everything else in the house it doesnt fucking work.

- BLAIR - 04-04-2008

ballin

- ScottyB - 04-05-2008

I second the motion to not get a gas fireplace. They really are innefficient as crap. If you have an actual wood burning fireplace, it's way better. Maybe slightly more dusty, but it'll heat the room(s) wayyyy better.
