I was running the radio while Jeff drove. - ScottyB - 02-24-2008 too bad you don't see alot of ho's chilling on the edge of the track. you could have picked up all of them! - Jeff - 02-24-2008 I was really surprised at how well it handled. It was really flat for being such a big car. The biggest complaint about these cars from owners (and by owners I mean old people) is the stiff ride. Chrysler was telling the dealers they were softening it up for 08'...so sad. Dad told me the exact words were "it is too German" in its handling/ride characteristics for the target market. Its pretty soft already, don't get me wrong, but it was pretty stout for such a large car. Anyway, the biggest letdown of the weekend was hitting the skidpad. Rex and I took it over to the wet skidpad and we found out the hard way that "esp off" is a lie. I could get a pretty good wheel spinning drift going then all of a sudden it would cut throttle, up shift, and apply the ABS. Gayest...shit...ever. We would end up stopping in a torrent of ABS jamming and the autostick indicator would be at "3" when we started at 1. Seemed like it was almost more likely to cause a crash then prevent it because it made the car so unpredictable. I could get a better drift going then the drifto-fantastico 240 but it was spoiled by the electronic nanny living in the 5.7L Hemi. ESP on was even worse...no drifting at all. During touring laps I noticed that it plowed like a FWD. This could have been because I wasn't going fast enough but I feel like I should still have been able to get some oversteer out of it. Around oaktree it wanted to push out even if I was coming out of the turn at WOT (this is with the ESP on) should this have been the case? I'm no expert, but it just didn't feel right. I found a thread on a 300 forum that tells how to disable the torque management part of the ESP  |
