- Chris - 02-12-2008 wow thats incredible detail in those pics. what's it from and who made it? (the link doesn't work for me) - Goodspeed - 02-12-2008 The site is down for some reason....its a Dutch guy who makes garage dioramas for several makes of cars, incredible attention to detail...scratch built everything except the cars themselves - Mike - 02-12-2008 lol! wtf? why? mad skills, but why? - DavidM - 02-12-2008 Everyone needs a hobby... - Goodspeed - 02-12-2008 Oh and I forgot, he made a diorama of the Miata farm
- Sijray21 - 02-13-2008 wow, that's crazy!! guy's good!! - mrbaggio - 02-13-2008 its a doll house for old men - WRXtranceformed - 02-13-2008 Do you think those are modeled after real garages? That's some pretty neat stuff. They don't look like much from far away, but when you get close you can really see the detail and effort he put in. I think it would be cool if you had your own garage like that and had that guy come out and make a diarama of it. - Mike - 02-13-2008 i wonder where he gets all the little items in the garage? i guess companies make that stuff for model train guys? - WRXtranceformed - 02-13-2008 I was wondering that too, I can't imagine he hand painted or fabbed up every one of those little things.... that would take for-ev-er! - ScottyB - 02-13-2008 man those are awesome. hundreds of hours in that i'm sure. i wonder how many kits he had to buy just to tear up to get some random parts like those valve covers or fenders. Mike Wrote:i wonder where he gets all the little items in the garage? i guess companies make that stuff for model train guys? yes alot of those tools are probably from other scale miniature hobbies like trains....and i wouldn't be surprised if they were laser cut metal. for some though, he may have made and poured his own molds. - Goodspeed - 02-13-2008 I found the pics and link on this forum: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15206&showall=1 He said on his website that he scratch built pretty much everything except for the cars themselves which he made as model kits. His site is back up, check it out in the first post - WRXtranceformed - 02-13-2008 Uh, WOW! That guy has a LOT of time on his hands then!! |
