Rally info & Upcoming Rally/Rallycross events--spring 20 - joshw - 02-07-2008
Hey everyone, I wanted to post up some information about upcoming rally events. Some of these are obviously far away but many are close. If anyone is interested in Rallycross (autocross on dirt), there will be 10-11 events at Summit Point this year.
If anyone has any questions about how to get into rally, techniques, etc feel free to post them here.
Upcoming rally events:
This weekend--February 9th Sandblast Rally in South Carolina--I am leaving tommorrow at noon...
Feb22-23 100 acre wood rally in Missouri
Feb23-24 rally events at Summit Point Saturday 5-mile course with rally cars, Sunday 1.4 mile course with street cars--this would be a practice/shakedown day for our team's rally car.
March29-30 rally events at Summit Point--same format as above PLUS rallycross driver's school
April 4-5 Rally NY--Tarmac event 2 days of racing-we haven't decided to race or not yet.
April19-20 Rally events at Summit Point--same format as above
April 18-19 Olympus Washington rally--we may race
May16-17 Oregon Trails--first event in MaxAttack! series--we will race
May 23-24 Rally Tennessee--very good tarmac event just west of Nashville---we may race
June 6-7 STPR in Pennsylvania--I will spectate, Jeremy and Matt will race
June 14-15 National Championship Rallycross event at Summit Point--I will race
June 28-29 Rally events at Summit Point--same format as above
July 12-13 New England Forest rally--Maine--I will spectate, Jeremy and Matt will race
July 20th--Pikes Peak International Hillclimb--colorado--we will race if a sponsor finds enough value in it to pay$$
August 1-2 Rally West Virginia--We will race 2nd round of MaxAttack! series
October 17-18 Lake Superior Rally--3rd round of MaxAttack! series

Were you at the last meeting sitting on the left side of the room? I was the taller guy sitting to your right.
I would love to at least come out and watch some rallying-- or photograph for you guys if you are interested. ( <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.davidlonnquest.com">www.davidlonnquest.com</a><!-- w -->) Either way, would be really interested in helping out or spectating!

i was considering working sandblast this year since it's kind of close to me. i missed the worker deadline but i'm considering it next year...i don't know if i'll drive there but i might go with some other guys.

Our shop, Whiplash Motorsports, is helping out with sponsoring these events at Summit Point so we will see you at each of these throughout the year.
