New bling for the IS3 amidst the destruction - WRXtranceformed - 11-27-2007 Some pictures of the damage following the deer hit. I gotta say that I'm pretty impressed with how well the body panels held up in general. I mean I hit that thing pretty hard. Here is the dent where the deer's head struck, and the damage to the headlight (some plastic housing piece broke inside): ![]() ![]() Body damage where the ass-end of the deer hit. You can't really see it where the damage is on the driver's door, but the passenger door is obvious. You can still see where I hit the deer so hard it shat on the car. ![]() A sneak peak at the bling! ![]() Going to have the body shop paint them as a side job while it's in there and probably have them install them too. They didn't come with any mounting hardware or holes drilled, so the last thing I want to do is crack fresh paint. Matching lip will be here shortly too... I'll get pics of it when I get it back! - ScottyB - 11-27-2007 ugh sorry to hear man. i have to admit i laughed a bit when i got to the part where the deer actually pooped on your car  let's see some blingage! - Feersty - 11-28-2007 Spray dem housings SON! - Ginger - 11-28-2007 Feersty Wrote:Spray dem housings SON!
- WRXtranceformed - 11-28-2007 The irony is that I've been putting off taking apart my headlights, installing the DDE angel eye kit I bought and putting on the xenon blue rockblocker. I'm glad that I did! I'll probably paint the housing when I get it back and eventually take them apart. That would have been weird to have one headlight with an angel eye and the other without  - WRXtranceformed - 02-21-2008 Never really updated this thread. Car got fixed 100%, the body shop I took it to right up the street from my old place did pretty much a perfect job. I got the car back and the front driver's headlight was new and shiny which made the passenger side look really hazy and dull. I did a search here, polished up the headlight / foglights by wetsanding them with a fine grit sandpaper and buffing with PlasticX. Then, I applied an electron blue rockblocker to the headlights and foglights. It sounds ghetto but it looks really good, especially at night. I scrapped the idea of the angel eyes and sold them because I didnt' feel comfortable taking apart those headlights and wiring up the ballasts. I'll get some pics up hopefully this weekend if it gets sunny. Since I moved down south I no longer need a front license plate. I removed the license plate and the frame and there are obviously two gaping holes in the front bumper. I searched around and found a good solution from the guys on the IS forums. There's a company right up the street in Charlotte called BumperPlugs that makes plugs for this very reason (they also specialize in Porsche customization). I almost pulled the trigger on the door plug also but figured with my luck I'd have to use the key in the door someday after installing it. $25 and looks a lot better than two screw holes in the front  Here's the website: http://bumperplugs.com Pic of the door plug on an IS: ![]() Bumperplugs:

- Mike - 02-22-2008 i does not love the blue headlights. otherwise, yeah, i was browsing white is300s on autotrader today. - WRXtranceformed - 02-22-2008 They're cheap now man. You can find an 01 or 02 for close to 10-11k. - Nis01 - 02-22-2008 Car looks good Lee. Those rims really set it off nicely. The lights are a little too blue for me but it might be because of the overcast sky. |
