Nelson Ledges Longest Day 24 hr enduro - more pics! - .RJ - 08-25-2007 I'm here crewing, and this is certainly an interesting little track - its very fast, narrow, bumpy and no runoff. The track just got flushable toilets last year - previously they just had outhouses (I cant make this up). ~40 cars total and I think 6 or 7 in our class (ITB). The race kicks off at 3pm tomorrow. Off to get some rest and some pics until then. Re: Nelson Ledges "Longest Day" 24 hr enduro - WRXtranceformed - 08-25-2007 .RJ Wrote: Lol, the irony of the numbers on that car ... I don't know why that's funny to me, it must be because it's late  - John - 08-25-2007 Ceases to amaze me how that track is still in business... - Andy - 08-25-2007 I was actually planning on driving that track until I started reading about it. Holy shit. It makes CMP look like a resort. - .RJ - 08-25-2007 It would be a very cool track if it were 10' wider and had more runoff - .RJ - 08-27-2007 - ScottyB - 08-27-2007 nice pics man. that is one wild looking track, just judging by the few pics of the track that i've seen. you think you'll go back? - .RJ - 08-27-2007 I'll go back next year, after having 362 days to forget about this year. Edit - I really had a great time, and I do like Nelson Ledges after my first visit - more on the event later, but it was run well and "conovermotorsportshellaphilstireserviceteamGTI" kicks alot of ass. At around 1am a VW Rabbit ended up in a tire wall, upside down. They got it back into the pits and the whole chassis was twisted up, it was pretty ugly. So, they roll it into the tech shed and get to work - they pulled the glass out, the body work that was bent and hitting tires was cut out and the pulled the frame rails straight with the car chained between a 1 ton diesel and a backhoe - I cant make this up. They started with a 1 ton diesel and a 3/4 ton gas truck but the diesel just dragged both the car and the gasser across the tech shed  I went to sleep before they finished but when I got up they were back out on track and they finished the race! I'll find those pics when I get home
- ScottyB - 08-28-2007 ^^ i don't like to overuse the word "epic" but that is one occasion where i think that's the only word that works |
