Deersty wants to know more about Saturns... - HAULN-SS - 08-13-2007 were saturns even GM back then (mod edit: in the early 90s)? - .RJ - 08-13-2007 When Saturn started it wasnt GM at all, just owned by GM. Now they've been absorbed into the great money losing empire, and bring you wonderful products like the... Ion... ![]() OG lunchbox forevAr
- CaptainHenreh - 08-13-2007 They were always owned by GM, but they weren't always parts-bin knockoffs, as RJ sez. They used to have plastic panels and styrofoam engines. They were marketed as an import fighter, but they were a little pricier and didn't have the "reliability/cheap cred" to back up the sales. Good cars tho. Gonna buy Chapins? - HAULN-SS - 08-13-2007 i'd drive an ion redline if someone gave it to me. my ex had a base model ion - it didnt seem to bad - Feersty - 08-13-2007 Deersty eh? That's a good one. I think Saturn is going somewhere with the Sky. It seems like a well built car. I have to drive on at some point. - Evan - 08-13-2007 parts bin platform cars is the only way to build a car that has any hope of making money now. so we can wax nostalgic about the days of yore, but in order to have all the features we need/want/musthave at reasonable (cough) prices the platform is a must. and who the fuck wants a saturn anyway? - Andy - 08-13-2007 Evan Wrote:parts bin platform cars is the only way to build a car that has any hope of making money now. so we can wax nostalgic about the days of yore, but in order to have all the features we need/want/musthave at reasonable (cough) prices the platform is a must. Thanks Captain Obvious And I really dig the new Saturns especially if the Astra stays the same as the Opel/Vauxhalls variants.

Seemed like no matter how hard you beat on the car it just wouldn't give you a good pull. However I'm pretty confident they remedied that with the supercharged version, although I haven't driven that one.....yet. - Feersty - 08-14-2007 Yeah I think the Redline is the way to go. - Dave - 08-14-2007 Feersty Wrote:Yeah I think the Redline is the way to go. I just saw a headline reporting that GM couldn't keep Redlines at their dealerships. Richard Wagoner, GM CEO, was quoted crediting the sudden surge in sales from the formal mark of approval, released this morning, of Mr. Rob Feerst. - Mike - 08-14-2007 Dave Wrote:Feersty Wrote:Yeah I think the Redline is the way to go. |
