GM is making some good stuff lately. - Andy - 07-31-2007 Even I would buy some of there stuff now and not just the Corvette. I rode around in my cousin's rental Impala this weekend and it was actually pretty nice. I would love to own/track one of these: ![]() - ScottyB - 07-31-2007 if that car drove well, i'd definitely consider it a few years down the line. hot! - JackoliciousLegs - 07-31-2007 Just because they recorded a profit in Q2 for the first time in a while means nothing. I rent GMs all the time and when I get a Toyota... I consider myself lucky. If I wanted a boat-like cruiser for the Memphis highways that got worse gas mileage than a camry, had less of a quality finish, and a worse resale value, I'd definitely consider an Impala. - Evan - 07-31-2007 I still dont get why the GTO failed. a racing buddy just bought a Lincoln MKZ streetcar. Its super pimpy. Ive been impressed with the domestic rental cars Ive gotten lately. Or at least havent been un-impressed. Of course, if you go into it with the attitude that domestics suck, well, youre going to think they suck. - .RJ - 07-31-2007 Evan Wrote:Of course, if you go into it with the attitude that domestics suck, well, youre going to think they suck. Only chryslers  - HAULN-SS - 07-31-2007 You seen that the new Jeeps are coming with a lifetime powertrain warranty? I'm pretty impressed by that..even if its not transferrable - Ginger - 07-31-2007 JackoliciousLegs Wrote:Just because they recorded a profit in Q2 for the first time in a while means nothing. Goodness, Jack, get off the disagree-with-everybody train. Nobody said anything about a Q2 profit... Andy juts said he doesn't think they're demon junkships. I know they don't come with Apple notebooks, but really, that doesn't mean they suck. - Apoc - 07-31-2007 Ask RJ how sweet our Impala rental was. Here's a clue: it wasn't. - ScottyB - 07-31-2007 Evan Wrote:I still dont get why the GTO failed. apparently a clean, modest, and unassuming shape is only allowed for cars without 4 seats, an LS1, IRS and a price tag in the 20's. 3800 lbs. unladen weight sucks too, but who's counting when you have 350+ horses..... - Evan - 07-31-2007 ScottyB Wrote:I guess? I guess I just dont see it as a modest anassuming shape. Its more agressive than most cars, and in a classic way that will age well and should resonate with the 30-40something buyers it was targeted at. Everyone (justifiably) complained about all the plastic cladding crap pontiac was bolting to every one of their cars, and they fixed it, and now produce the best looking cars on the road.Evan Wrote:I still dont get why the GTO failed. Just about every car in that segment is a heavy pig now too. I dont get it. maybe the small trunk killed the car.... (sarcasm) - .RJ - 07-31-2007 Apoc Wrote:Ask RJ how sweet our Impala rental was. I farted in it - HAULN-SS - 07-31-2007 I think maybe it had something to do with it actually being a holden. Rednecks want a made in america muscle car perhaps? - ScottyB - 07-31-2007 Evan Wrote:I guess? I guess I just dont see it as a modest anassuming shape. Rednecks want a made in america muscle car perhaps? yeah but the rednecks aren't interested in leather interiors and IRS and what not. they want their big, pickup-truck-suspension'ed, all business type V8 cars. the GTO is much more of an executive GT IMO. - BLAIR - 07-31-2007 .RJ Wrote:Evan Wrote:Of course, if you go into it with the attitude that domestics suck, well, youre going to think they suck. I like my SRT8 Chrysler 300 ALOT ![]() - .RJ - 07-31-2007 Everything's better when its free ![]() - BLAIR - 07-31-2007 even still a very cool car.. I have liked em since they came out..would i buy one though.. prob not - Andy - 07-31-2007 Apoc Wrote:Ask RJ how sweet our Impala rental was. Which one did you get? My cousin's was a new model with leather and nav. I thought it was better than my sister new Camry with regard to interior quality though she didn't get the bling interior. - Goodspeed - 07-31-2007 Drool. Take your ugly-as-sin electro-granny controlled M5 and shove it. ![]() - Apoc - 07-31-2007 Andy Wrote:Apoc Wrote:Ask RJ how sweet our Impala rental was. Probably a crap base model but pieces of the interior actually came off in my hands at one point. The drivetrain was also fairly horrible. |
