What movies are you looking forward to? - Goodspeed - 07-29-2007 So, what movies are you waiting to see, that look good? Post up some trailers, there are a lot of good movies IMO coming out and here are mine American Gangster - Trailer Denzel Washington plays Frank Lucas, one of the most notorious gangsters in New York history. Looks to be a contender for best movie of the year for me, great actors and a good plot. Bourne Ultimatum - Trailer My favorite series of movies probably this decade, better than Bond, gritty, intense, excellent plots. This should be pretty awesome. Death Sentence - Trailer Kevin Bacon turns from mild mannered family man to a ruthless killer hell bent on revenge. Directed by the same guy who did the Saw movies, which I too enjoyed. No End in Sight - Trailer Iraq in Fragments - Trailer The first is already out; documentaries on the Iraq war that are very in-depth with interviews and first hand accounts with top officials. Should be a good learning experience Hitman - Trailer The wildly successful Hitman videogame series, of which I'm a big fan, comes to the big screen. Timothy Olyphant is a great actor, I'm very curious to see how this turns out, I have high hopes. In video games at least, its a great, chilling story line The Kingdom - Trailer The action looks great, the story line may be a little dramatized but is in no way far fetched, and Michael Mann FTW. An interesting look at Saudi Arabia as well, I'm very interested to see what they do with this. Mr. Brooks - Trailer I missed this one due to my travelling, but I can't wait to see this regardless on DVD. William Hurt is always good, and Kevin Costner, when pushed and in the right role, can be a terrific actor. Kind of like Robin Williams in One Hour Photo, I think actors are at their best outside of their usual role, in that case insane obsessive photo guy vs. funny guy. I'm looking forward to seeing Costner outside of his usual golf playing role. - JustinG - 07-29-2007 that hitman movie looks like it could have potential, i have always been a big fan of the games.... speaking of games, what video games is everyone looking forward to as well...this fall is the start of the end of my life Xbox 360 July NASCAR 08 August Madden Bio Shock September PGR 4 HALO 3 October GTA 4 Ace Combat 6 Mass Effect NFS Pro Street Guitar Hero 3 November COD 4 Splinter Cell Conviction Assassins Creed Rock Band - John - 07-29-2007 I'm up for Bourne Ultimatum - I've enjoy the series thus far. I'm actually looking forward to IronMan next year - looks pretty decent as of now... - ScottyB - 07-29-2007 movie wise, i've seen more than i normally do this summer. coming up i'm looking forward to borne ultimatum, beowulf, iron man, indy jones 4 next year, halo in '09 - John - 07-29-2007 Is Indiana Jones 4 a reality? They've been saying it for the past 7 years - no avail... - Hunter - 07-29-2007 Anyone else like Wes Anderson movies? (royal tenenbaums, the life aquatic, etc.) He's got a new movie coming out this fall called The Darjeeling Limited and I'm pumped about it. - John - 07-29-2007 John Wrote:Is Indiana Jones 4 a reality? They've been saying it for the past 7 years - no avail... Just looked it up and filming has already begun... oh hell yes! - HAULN-SS - 07-29-2007 royal tenenbaums was funny as hell - bassmangrammy - 07-30-2007 I saw The Simpsons Movie tonight... it's funny if you're a Simpsons fan, but otherwise it's nothing above average. - CaptainHenreh - 07-30-2007 I can honestly say, Goodspeed, that I'm not looking forward to any of the movies on your list. "Summer Movies" have come and gone, and there's nothing I want to see. Also, Hitman - Jason Statham = Suck. Well, it's probably gonna suck no matter what, but Statham was a shoe-in for Agent 47. Olyphant. Yeah, he's *so* badass.

"Summer Movies" have come and gone, and there's nothing I want to see. Well, thats why I called it "my" list and not yours  I'm the opposite of you I guess, I'm actually not a huge summer blockbuster person, I haven't seen Transformers or the new Shrek movie or any of that. Really the only "mainstream" summer movie I saw was Pirates 3 and I thought it sucked terribly. What do you mean by "summer" movies? IMO the best movies come out in the fall/winter, i.e. movies with plot and good acting, whereas summer is reserved for the action blockbusters. But you don't at least like the Bourne series? WTF mate? I do think Olyphant is a great actor though, I actually loved him in that role (have that movie on DVD). He has way more range than Statham. Sure Statham is a badass, but when it comes to acting he's a piece of wood. Then again Agent 47 isn't a blossoming joyous character, he just kills people so I'm not sure what is going to happen here. At least they didn't have Vin Diesel who was originally planned for the role. The way I see it I like Olyphant, and I like Hitman, so hopefully both for the win. We will see - CaptainHenreh - 07-30-2007 Goodspeed Wrote:Well, thats why I called it "my" list and not yours  I'm the opposite of you I guess... ORLY? I guess that while I don't *really* give a shit about a video game movie, it's not that I don't like Olyphant...it's that Agent 47 is supposed to me some sort of silent cold blooded killer not a charming, wise cracking suave motherfucker like Olyphant's good at. Sure, Statham has the acting range of a washcloth, but how much range do you need when you're playing a video game hitman? But, whatever. I don't like the Bourne movies cuz it's all the same crap. The first one was good. And then, the second one is like 'BOOM! Jason Bourne, international fucker-upper of whoever he feels like' just like in the first one. Blah blah blah snoooooooooooooore. All that and no titties to boot? For shame! I prefer Bond, at least Bond has a sense of humor about the whole thing. And yes, I realize it was *your* list, I even called it your list, and said I didn't want to see any movies on it. Your snark is misplaced. - Goodspeed - 07-30-2007 MY SNARKS ARE NEVER MISPLACED SIR Honestly, I wouldn't call it a snark. Rather, I was trying to be a smart ass. Are those two different things? Whatever. Anyways you kind of echoed my sentiments on Olyphant and Hitman, it goes both ways....Olyphant has a wider range...you don't need a wide range to play Agent 47...but Agent 47 doesn't require acting so you can really put in any bald headed guy who doesn't smile to play him, see what I mean? I guess Olyphant isn't as chiseled looking as Statham, but you put a guy like him or Diesel or the coroner guy who didn't speak from Gone in 60 Seconds in his place and IMO the movie turns to complete cheese. Cool, but mind numbing at the same time. It would be expected for them to play this role. My curiosity is piqued ever more because of Olyphant playing this role With that said, the real person to play Agent 47 would be:
- Hunter - 08-09-2007 I just thought I'd add a little to this list. I think this has the potential to be pretty funny... http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809761737/video/3631941/ - Sijray21 - 08-10-2007 just saw Bourne Ultimatum - excellent IMO also looking forward to Superbad - ScottyB - 08-10-2007 Sijray21 Wrote:just saw Bourne Ultimatum - excellent IMO cool, i'm gonna see that this weekend i think - WRXtranceformed - 08-10-2007 Bourne Ultimatum was good, aside from the really really shaky camera on the fight and action driving scenes. |
