So on my way home from work I joined the Renault F1 pit crew - Goodspeed - 07-23-2007
Sort of. I stuck my head in the Renault showroom only to have this beauty in the entrance to greet me

Walking further back, there was another F1 car with two pit crew members holding a public demenstration/contest for changing wheels and tires. They split up contestants in to 4 groups of 3, let us practice, then timed us, so I of course jumped at the chance

We did two practice times and got about 9-10 seconds, then the guy I was teamed with messed up with the impact wrench and put us back a good few seconds

After that I wandered over to the Toyota showroom, where they had an Aygo on display covered in a white temp paint sort of stuff, and they had markers available to write and draw on the car

If you've ever seen an F1 race just watch the little guys move the tires around. Basically with 1 hand and no effort. I think they are only like 13".

Wasn't too hard at all to lift the whole thing and move it around by one hand. If I had to guess, I'd say 90% of the weight was in the tire itself, I'm sure the wheels themselves are very light
