OBD 2 Code Scanner - Ginger - 07-03-2007

Does anybody have one I could borrow, by chance? My girlfriend's Escort is throwing a code and I'l like to see what it is without having to go by a shop.

.. or is there any way to pull the codes without one? I don't recall ever hearing about one with OBD2, but who am I to actually know?

- JohnC - 07-03-2007

Any Advance or Auto Zone will pull the codes for free.

you track a civic, those in glass houses shouldn't throw...

It's been a great car. It's tipping the scales at 100K now and never had a single major problem *knock on wood* She drove it up and down the 'Burg/Nova trip all last spring when she was interviewing and the 'Burg/Charlottesville the fall before that when she was student teaching. It hasn't left her stranded a single time. Our neighbor has the exact same model and he hasn't had a single problem, either. At 100K if this is something simple, which I expect it is, then I wouldn't complain at all - wear items would be starting to wear out by now.

Andy - thanks. If I can't get by DJ's store when he's there I'll swing by and borrow yours. I'll let you know.

oh puhlease... night and day difference.

note: yes, we all know no matter how crappy a car is, there are always examples of ones that make it longer than they should... duh.

cheap, slow, commuter cars, nope didn't miss anything. At least one of you is using the car for what it's good for.

There's nothing at all wrong with basic, reliable transportation for someone that doesnt care about cars.
