My Post Hyperfest Story - white_2kgt - 06-26-2007 So as many of you know the wife and I came up for a few hrs to hang out, after we left we went to dinner in Winchester then headed back down 66 to get home (vs 340->70). So about 20 miles outside of NOVA the wife has to goto the bathroom, there's nowhere out there to stop so we press on. A few minutes later a Red with White Stripes Ford GT starts creeping up behind me. The camera is all the way in the back but I had my cell phone cam so I snap off a few shots. They pretty much look like ass. So he gets up in front of me and I loose him, about 10 minutes later we run up on the RT15 exit, there's a Sheetz so I pull off to let the wife go. As I pull into sheets I see the GT over across the street at the shell station. I pull the wife back in the car and we head over to the shell station. The pump next to him is empty so I pull in. Nobody's at the car. So I fill the truck up and the owner walks over. Turns out he's a really cool guy and lives in Rockville. He says hes on the way back from Roanoke from having lunch w/ friends. I ask him if he's ever taken it to the track, he starts telling me how he's got to lower the seat b/c his head hits the roof w/ a helmet on and how he's taken the BSR accident class at Summit. ORLY!? Then he tells me his buddy is renting Summit Pt in a few months and he's going to take the car! He ended up giving me his card I'll probably try and keep in touch w/ him and find out when he's going to the track. I've met a few Ford GT owners. Up until now only the ones I've met at the track have actually been cool, this guy was very laid back and a real FORD guy at heart. Drives a F150 daily. Oh and of course I got my camera out of the back this time ![]() - Andy - 06-26-2007 your face ruined the picture. -edit-So you think he'll call you up to go to his friend's private event? That would be kickass. - Kaan - 06-26-2007 do those things fit into AI very well? - HAULN-SS - 06-26-2007 haha..cool story. The GT is one of the few Fords I'd drive and be proud of, haha - .RJ - 06-26-2007 HAULN-SS Wrote:The GT is one of the few Fords I'd drive and be proud of, haha Says the guy with the busted ass monte carlos... - white_2kgt - 06-26-2007 Andy Wrote:your face ruined the picture. I'll slap a Mustang badge on the back and I think we could trick everyone into thinking it's the new shelby 8) - HAULN-SS - 06-26-2007 Pfft..only one is busted..and the other isn't going to be busted for too much longer - white_2kgt - 06-26-2007 HAULN-SS Wrote:Pfft..only one is busted..and the other isn't going to be busted for too much longer Please don't Derrek my thread. - Goodspeed - 06-26-2007 Man....what a terrific looking car. I don't think there is anything, short of the Enzo (which it is much prettier than) that can match it for sheer presence and raw looks. Just makes a CGT look like a squished bug. If I had a spare 150k lying around, that would be one of the first cars I'd buy. I have yet to see one in person, but the red/white looks stunning - ScottyB - 06-26-2007 Goodspeed Wrote:I have yet to see one in person, but the red/white looks stunning it is. i'm not a racing stripes fan either, but it is totally meant to be on the car. - PDenbigh - 06-26-2007 That's awesome dude! I love the way you said, "I pull the wife back in the car and..." See if he needs a couple crew members, to, um, wax it after each session? - HAULN-SS - 06-26-2007 I was in Nashville last year and they had one for raffle sitting outside the Hall of Fame - white/blue that was pretty hot. I looked at it up close, entered the raffle..figured what the hell..it was either really cheap or free..i think they said it was Alan Jacksons car formerly. - G.Irish - 06-26-2007 What's really cool about a lot of the supercar owners is that they are enthusiasts just like you and me. I've been pleasantly surprised at how cool and down to earth a lot of the 430 challenge guys have been. Hope you get a chance to ride in the car Chad, although that may end up ruining your sense of speed... Goodspeed Wrote:Man....what a terrific looking car. It probably has the highest ugly to speed ratio of any supercar this side of a Mosler (certainly the ugliest of all the uber Ferraris). The Ford GT looks much much better. - BLINGMW - 06-26-2007 G.Irish Wrote:highest ugly to speed ratio  there should be a calculator for that |
