This is just a chopped up S2000 test mule that is probably carrying the next-gen Honda sports car's drivetrain. Alternatively, it ivery well be a test mule for a sub-NSX Acura sportscar too but I rather doubt it.

The next Honda supercar is not going to be called the NSX. It'll be ASC or something. The latest word we have is that there will be a new concept car since the ASCC didn't go over well.

The car is supposedly going to be a FR V10 with SH-AWD. But yeah, boo to that. The car should be MR, anything else is sacrilege.

They're not calling it an NSX, and most of us cant afford one... as much as I'd like to see another mid-engined supercar from Honda, they arent going to care if a bunch of 20-somethings are throwing temper-tantrums on their keyboards about the car.

Yeah but the NSX owners are up in arms as well. I don't what the rationale is but pissing off the people who originally bought the car is not a great idea. I'm sure they think they'll get more luxo-sports car buyers or something but that kind of buyer tends to be a brand snob. Why cater to them when they could engineer the car for maximum performance and reap all of the resultant fanfare and accolades. That is really the only way you'll convince the F-Car and P-Car driving rich guys that the Acura is worth it.

They'll have to really hit this one out of the park if they're gonna go the AWD GT route. I'm not getting my hopes up.

Someone on one of the blog sites looked up the license plate of this test mule and its registered as having a 5 liter engine. Encouraging news, hopefully they're aiming for truly prodigious output rather than settling on the status quo 500 hp in that segment.

They did that when the car was released - faster and more reliable than what ferrari and porsche was offering at the time - did it work? I dont know what the sales numbers are for the early NSX's

Forgot to reply to this but yeah, the early years of the NSX outsold the 348 by a fair margin I believe, which prompted Ferrari to respond with the F355.

Anyway, here's a video of the ASC test mule:

It definitely sounds like a V10, kind of like a high revving Viper engine without the bass.
