i won't be happy about contributing to a crappy director like Michael Bay, but there's no way i'm not seeing this movie

they even have the transforming noise! Big Grin i remember trying to make that sound when i was playing with my transformers on the living room floor back in the day

Imagine that...

- HAULN-SS - 05-18-2007

gay, if you had clicked the link, you would see that this was not the same set of previews. This was a bunch of easter-egg clips.

- .RJ - 05-18-2007

Its the same topic, dummy. Search and reply to old threads that are on the same topic - reduces the clutter.

- HAULN-SS - 05-18-2007

well if that's the way you want to play ball...

hahaha - yes the wah wah wah wah wah noise. As bad of a director as he may be, he would have to try pretty hard to make this movie suck. Has anyone seen the old transformers episodes online, i looked around today after I saw this trailer but no dice. I guess i would accept up to the Dinobots after that I was too old/lost interest

I can't wait til this comes out on DVD so I can slow it down and see if they actually made the transformations feasible

- Mike - 06-27-2007

feasible?

- HAULN-SS - 06-27-2007

1. capable of being done, effected, or accomplished: a feasible plan.

as in, they didnt animate crazy physics, or "magic transformations" and whatnot

- .RJ - 06-27-2007

Who cares? Its hollywood, and its entertainment. You going to sit in front of the TV with a plumb-bob and a protractor?

- HAULN-SS - 06-27-2007

I doubt I get out a plumb-bob, but I'll probably slow it down just to see how they did it. I used to do quite a bit of 3D modelling, so that kind of stuff always interested me.

It's a movie about space invading robots that can morf into just about anything and fly around killing people. And you want to see if the 'transformation' they undergo is based in reality?

and would somebody fix that goddamn link in the first post so it doesn't make me scroll to the side???

actually, from what i've read, they tried to keep it pretty "real".... for instance Optimus is a long-hood semi so that he reaches the correct height. if he was a flat-nose he'd be shorter because of the way they modeled the transformation. obviously you can only go so far with stuff like that, but it's at least kind of believable. if you watch some of the transformation in the trailers, they are pretty interesting how some parts fold up.

Megatron was changed from a luger gun to a jet in the movie because they thought his ability to change size so dramatically in the cartoon, from a 30 foot robot to a hand-held gun, was too crazy of course.

That's bullshit... these guys are freaking crazy alien dudes... You don't think they can shrink/enlarge matter?

liar, there's no hope for your matter.

- BLINGMW - 06-27-2007

man, it must be getting close to that time of the month for you guys! :bootyshake:

He likes CGI and 3D modeling, so he'd like to see how they did it. Nothing wrong with that. Tons of people spent thousands of hours working out the transformations on a part-by-part level, and I'm sure it'd be interesting to see how "real" they were able to keep it.
