Pick your brain, need DWB Suspension - PDenbigh - 04-17-2007 MM, Let me pick your vast knowledge of cars. I need a small front double wishbone suspension system for a project. Think small, light, simple. The only one I can find is from a Triumph Spitfire. Other cars that come to mind, but I'm unsure of their front suspension system: Geo Metro, Ford Festiva, Toyota Yaris, small V-dubs... I don't care about the make or age. Anyone? Thanks, Peter - Andy - 04-17-2007 Are Honda Civics too big? They had DWB from at least 88 to 01 - BLINGMW - 04-17-2007 Pete, this could be totally useless, but the Fiero had double wishbone on the front, I think they stole it off the Chevette. It could be the heaviest, most poorly designed thing ever, way too big for you, I have no idea. But here's a few pics: 84-87: http://www.2bluesc.com/pictures/front-suspension.jpg 88 (was much "better" for whatever reason, they also moved the shock): http://bhughes.lonestarfieros.org/Fiero ... age007.jpg - D_Eclipse9916 - 04-17-2007 Miataaas, dont they have double wishbones? 2g Eclipses have double wishbones, pick up the control arms and everthing from an NA, and then get some GSX springs and shocks. It would be cheap, but im unsure of how light it is compared to some like the miata. blah all my suggestions were taken by the you and the guys above.. - white_2kgt - 04-17-2007 http://www.colemanracing.com/ build your own ![]() - ViPER1313 - 04-17-2007 Mazda 6 has them - CaptainHenreh - 04-17-2007 Andy Wrote:Are Honda Civics too big? They had DWB from at least 88 to 01 I thought only 92+ Civics had double wishbones. Geo Metro is out, they're mac struts and you don't want them anyway. Infiniti G20 had Double Wishbones. Maybe you're best off building a jig and doing it yourself. The "Build your own sports car for under 300" book has got some good pictures of it, I can let you borrow it if you like. Building a tardkart? - PDenbigh - 04-17-2007 Oh man, you have that book? Sweet! Yeah, I'd love to see those pages. I looked on Amazon and it was $90+. I've also looked around on the internet for some plans and haven't come up with much. I'm up for building them myself, just not sure of all the fittings, spindles, etc to use. For round 1 I was hoping to build on others' genius. Sometime when you are in town I'd really enjoy checking that book out Rex. Thanks! Keep the suggestions coming, this is helping a bunch! I'll post a pic of what I'm building in a sec. - CaptainHenreh - 04-17-2007 PDenbigh Wrote:Sometime when you are in town I'd really enjoy checking that book out Rex. Thanks! Well I sure as hell ain't gonna use it any time soon. I'll be in this weekend, you can borrow it. You might want to look at this book too: How to Build Your Own Tiger Avon Sports Car for Road or Track It is basically the same, except it uses a Ford Sierra as the donor car...something you might be passingly familiar with? - PDenbigh - 04-17-2007 Here's what I'm doing: http://www.mmsports.org/forum/viewtopic ... 534#118534 - PDenbigh - 04-17-2007 CaptainHenreh Wrote:PDenbigh Wrote:Sometime when you are in town I'd really enjoy checking that book out Rex.
