FS: 2003 Buell XB9S $5,100 - Ginger - 04-15-2007

My buddy Paul M. is selling this, he can be reached here:

paul.martha@gmail.com

Price is $5,100

For sale is my 2003 Buell XB9S. This bike is in excellent condition and ready for a new owner. I am the second owner of this bike, the original owner performed a XB9R tail swap on this bike ÔÇô it makes an already great looking bike even better looking. Other than the tail swap, everything on the bike is stock.

Its got 7500 miles on the odometer. I just performed the 7500 mile service (adjust primary chain, oil/filter, and transmission oil). This bike has been very well taken care of by the previous owner and myself. ItÔÇÖs never been stunted, raced, dropped, or generally abused. Title is clear and in hand.

There are only two issue maintenance wise that need to be addressed. The first is the front brake pad, itÔÇÖs getting down to the wear indicator and should be replaced soon. ItÔÇÖs a simple job that can be done in your driveway (pads are $61 from East Coast Harley ÔÇô cheaper online). The other is that the oil cooler itself and oil cooler lines need to be replaced. The oil cooler feed line was cross threaded when installed and it now has a very very slight leak. IÔÇÖve put about 2500 miles on the bike and it hasnÔÇÖt been an issue at all. The oil cooler is $120.00 from East Coast Harley and the oil cooler line kit is $62.00. Again, this is a drive way job.

Reliability wise, this bike has been bullet proof. IÔÇÖve never had any problems with it. I love the bike, but I need something more reasonable for commuting ~20 miles to work each day.

Please, only serious inquiries, as I am serious about selling. Any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks for looking.

I can vouch that it's a fun bike to ride.. I've put a couple days on Lightning's between this one and his brother's matching model - they're confidence instilling (and the kind of bike that makes you want to get yourself into trouble Wink) and I think they're pretty good looking, too.

Somebody buy this so he can buy an FJR so I can ride it!

*edit* He didn't mention it, but he's selling because he wants to get something sport-touring oriented instead of this bike's more purebread character.

- HAULN-SS - 04-16-2007

Not that I can afford it right now - but, price?

- Ginger - 04-16-2007

Wow - I didn't even proof read the message to make sure it was there.

He's looking for $5,100. First post and title also updated.

- Apoc - 04-16-2007

Rumor has it this bike has the unwanted side effect of giving you the inability to talk to random chicks.

- HAULN-SS - 04-16-2007

I kind of like these bikes. It's like the kind of bike a ninja would drive.

- Ginger - 04-16-2007

Aren't Ninjas stealthy and precise? This kind of bike is loud and torquey... it's totally a brute force kind of thing. Don't get me wrong, it'll go exactly where you want it to (the big wide bars really help with that), but you wouldn't accidently think you're riding a 675 or something.

Ah yes, those rare and less sneaky ninjas that like to be heard from miles away. I think Chris Farley was one.

- Apoc - 04-16-2007

Nevermind the fact that a ninja would probably ride a Japanese bike. Wink

- HAULN-SS - 04-16-2007

heh, those are all technicalities. Fine..maybe it's the type of bike a MMA champ would ride.

- Feersty - 04-16-2007

The Lightning is a nice looking bike.

- Mike - 04-16-2007

in person, the frames on these things are soooo awful. nasty welds and HUGE.

- Ginger - 04-17-2007

Not to be a pain - but do you think we could keep less-than-complimentary commentary out of the for sale thread? He disclosed what's not mechanically correct about this particular bike - and please feel free to ask about that - but if you don't like something about the model, or manufacturer in general this isn't really the appropriate venue.

- Mike - 04-17-2007

Confusedhrug: if it were you selling it or someone associated/with MM, i'd keep it to myself... since he's not? meh. i think they look like doo-doo up close. i'm not bashing his actual bike or ruining his chance for sale; if someone here were genuinely interested, my opinion wouldn't matter to them.

THAT'S for damn sure.

I was just saying that you were indeed correct in your assertion that no matter what you said on this topic who was genuinely interested in the motorcycle would pay an ounce of attention to what you, in particular, had to say.

I thought I was pretty clear, but I guess I wasn't.

- Apoc - 04-17-2007

No it was... he was just trying to degrade its effectiveness by questioning it categorically.

Yay BUMP!

i guess i don't understand the "you, in particular" part. i'm all ears.

What by "you, in particular" is:

You, in particular.

Your opinion would not matter. The implication here is that while YOUR particular opinion would NOT matter, someone else's might.
