Good news! - Feersty - 04-12-2007

My last payment goes through tomorrow, and then my car will be paid off! It took me 16 months.

 Big Grin Smile :o

- .RJ - 04-12-2007

How much per month were you paying?

- Sijray21 - 04-12-2007

good job Feersty!

debt sucks - i should be completely out of everything by next paycheck :-D

- .paul - 04-12-2007

congrats!

- Mike - 04-13-2007

A 6 month drought doesn't count as regularly.

I was going to say I'd rather be debt free than getting laid but then I actually thought about it and decided it wasn't true. The good news is I'm both. (well... except my mortgage) My internet johnson is of immense proportions!

- WRXtranceformed - 04-13-2007

I'm okay with maintaining debt, as long as it's manageable. I built a credit score of ~745 in just two years with the number of car loans (and one credit card I always paid off) I had ha ha. There definitely comes a time when debt free is a good thing though, especially when you're looking to take on a mortgage. One of the biggest reasons why my STi will be gone in a couple of months =)

Hooray no more boostrot! Supreme MM Junkie status~~

Sorry for the hijack Rob, congrats on paying off your slushbox ^_^

Oh, not yet. I was talking about my MM title.

I'm about 99% sure Travis (KPWSerpiente) is going to buy it from me in June though 8) He came out from California last Friday and test drove it.

- KPWSerpiente - 04-13-2007

Well it isn't a secret that I'm trying to buy the car. I've done all the groundwork including contacting a dozen auto-shipping companies to see what it is going to run for a coast to coast delivery and the only thing I'm waiting on is for a certain CD to mature so that I don't have to borrow all the money which is why we're talking about June.

=D

MIHS STI ... best plate idea Evar!

- HAULN-SS - 04-13-2007

I have just been doing some checking lately - auto shipping isnt too bad. I just got a quote for 900 miles that was 450$ on an open truck. If you need enclosed, which i dont know why you would for that car - add 100$

I guess you're about 3 times that distance, but 1300$ should just about cover it i'd guess.

HAULN-SS Wrote:If you need enclosed, which i dont know why you would for that car - add 100$

You're kidding, right? On BOTH counts. Enclosed trailers are more expensive to buy, and more expensive to operate (more weight, less mpg, more wear/tear). I wouldnt want to ship a fairly new car, especially one as flashy as Lee's out in the open - both due to wear/tear on the paint and theft risk.

My car was shipped on an open trailer to SoCal for ~$950, those guys did a great job. If you want enclosed, its going to be $1500 and up depending on the shipper.

- Ginger - 04-13-2007

+1

You've seen Lee's car, right? I don't know why you wouldn't want to ship that enclosed.

- G.Irish - 04-13-2007

I think Lee's car would probably be fine, its not a Honda. What the hell is someone going to steal off of it while its on a trailer? A shift knob? The wing? If RJ could ship a stickered up Honda racecar cross-country and it didn't show up with missing parts I think a STi would be fine.

- WRXtranceformed - 04-13-2007

It's got the proximity alarm on the security system too, so if you stopped for a bite to eat or sleep it would let you know if anyone was close =)

- .RJ - 04-13-2007

You never know... I pushed to get the buyer of my car to ship enclosed but I think he was too cheap for that, I didnt pay for it and I didnt make the arrangements. The front end of the car was already torn up from rock chips and spec miatas, so the damage part was a non-issue.
