FS: Parting out the 318 - Beej - 04-10-2007 The drivetrain is in pieces, and I can't see myself ever having the desire to put it back together. You may see some of it (mostly 'cool stuff'). on other forums. It's kinda depressing that it's leaving, but it's even more depressing looking at the thing every day and knowing how much work it needs. Cool stuff: Front/rear plastic bumper conversion Euro ellipsoids/grilles Victor 330mm steering wheel (love this f'ing thing) with hub Kirk racing rollbar Ground control stuff (most (all?) collars are seized) and bilstein sports Relatively new control arms with M3 bushings Some baller old school Recaros that need a little love Other stuff: Black interior will probably go into the red car Uh...ask If you want anything that will stop the car from rolling, you're going to have to provide me with something else to bolt up so that a tow truck can take it away. - .RJ - 04-10-2007 What does it need? Just an engine put back in? I'm totally not serious, but at least entertain this as my bad idea of the day. - Beej - 04-10-2007 .RJ Wrote:What does it need? Just an engine put back in?Yeah needs an engine...I took it apart and didn't label things because I thought the 2002 engine I had would be going in a couple days later. But that didn't fit, and I don't care enough to bother putting an engine in it. That, on top of the fact that there's a short somewhere in the wiring for the driver's side lights, I've taken off random parts for the 330, and rust is starting to rear it's ugly head...I just don't want the car. It accidentally became a parts car. You guys and your bad ideas entertain me all day long...but I wouldn't recommend this one.
- .RJ - 04-10-2007 So... it just need an engine? How much to haul the thing away? Heeeeeeeeey channing, got a 318 engine? - Beej - 04-10-2007 Really? You want a rusty, silver car with tan/mismatched interior and random missing parts? Don't know the condition of the rear drums, but the spacers are so rusted on that you would have a helluva time just getting a look. I'll think about what price I'd want. I can probably get ~$1k for all of the parts...you'd be nuts to spend that much for a crappy e30 chassis. - .RJ - 04-10-2007 $1k! Highway robbery! ![]() Thanks for entertaining my bad idea of the day(Ôäó) - CaptainHenreh - 04-10-2007 How much for the Euro Ellipses "Baller old school recaros" Rollbar ![]() Thanks. - .RJ - 04-10-2007 Rex's bad idea is far better than mine! - BLINGMW - 04-10-2007 .RJ Wrote:Heeeeeeeeey channing, got a 318 engine? I sure do! It comes free with its own motorized rolling shipping crate. The crate even has room for 4 in it as well. Quite a fantastic thing really! ![]() How much for the steering wheel BJ? And how new are the control arms, how much you want for em? I don't need the lolypops/bushings. How old are your bilstein sports? Stock valving? They still good? Are the fronts the smaller diameter or did you find some of the larger tubes when you did suspension? This is actually kind of sad. We're both abandoning our m10 chariots?
- Beej - 04-10-2007 Yeah, it is kinda sad. I got a real solid 7 years out of mine - it was seriously great to me, and a fanstastic learning experience. Anyway. Wheel - Isn't your new 318 an airbag car? I've tried putting a Momo hub on my red car (airbag), and it just won't seat right. It's loose. Control arms - I'll have to look up when I ordered them...I wanna say 10-15k miles? Got other lollipops/bushings/arms I can put back on the car so it can roll away? The make is Lemfoerder. Bilsteins - Rears probably have like 50k, fronts probably have like 30k (replaced with cheapy Tokico adjustables, just so I could play around with adjustability...never did). They're the smaller 45mm diameter ones. Stock valving. I'll compress the fronts by hand to see how they feel tonight. - Nick325is - 04-10-2007 Bill.... Pmed you about the steering wheel and euro grills. -Nick |
