I'm 99% sure the 7424 is a random-orbit not a rotary. So if you are looking for a rotary you need to go with the 7336. But if you are not set on Porter Cable, Makita and Dewalt both make some very nice rotary buffers as well.

Before you get a rotary (7336), master the random orbit (7424).
