Anyone else seen this new WRX? - Ryan T - 03-27-2007

Dunno if this is what it will really look like or anything about it really, but I found these pics. Fuckin UGLY if you ask me.

front end is better than the year before if this is accurate, but i'm not a fan of the 5-door idea...

- Goodspeed - 03-27-2007

My god, thats terrible. Subaru, stop f'in up the Impreza. 04-05 forever

- ScottyB - 03-27-2007

kind of reminds me of the retarded stepchild of a tribeca and a malibu maxx.

between this, and the new GT-R, i'm not a happy man.

- Mike - 03-27-2007

all downhill since the gc...

- ButtDyno - 03-27-2007

My car gets prettier every year...

But yeah... those are the real pics. The sedan looks to be boring as all hell too. Should be interesting what they do with the STi.

- bassmangrammy - 03-27-2007

Shit... now I won't be able to buy an STi of Shea's vintage because they are not coming down in price.

- Hunter - 03-27-2007

That is the sweetest pontiac vibe I've ever seen!

- Ryan T - 03-27-2007

Subaru WRFord500.

- Dave - 03-27-2007

OMG Set it on fire!!!!

for once i agree with goodspeed

this looks god awful

- Beej - 03-28-2007

I dunno, I really don't think it's all that bad. Not fantastic, but not nearly as bad as you guys are saying.

04-05's are my favorite though.

- G.Irish - 03-28-2007

Its not offensive in my opinion. Just plain and plebian.

- Jeff - 03-28-2007

Wow...what an ugly ass car. Subaru just decided to make all their cars ugly from now on...I am convinced.

- WRXtranceformed - 03-28-2007

PUKE!

thing is, i love the legacy...that car is so bangin. and the impreza, SVX...those were sweet!

i just can't see how, after what i'm sure was months of focus group studies, customer profiling, and market research, they could possibly sign off on this design. do they have any idea what happened to the last Civic Si when Honda tried the "quirky dumpy looking hatch" formula?

I think what is truly disappointing, beyond the horrid looks, is the obvious intention of Subaru to stray away from the WRX's/STi's rally-bred heritage into plebian automotive appliance - dom. They already have the Tribeca and the Legacy, why do they need to take their leading performance vehicle and turn it into yet another overweight, ugly people carrier? Japanese auto companies have really gone down hill lately IMO and they have now completely turned their backs on the enthusiasts that played a large part in their growth in this country. I hate to see what is going to happen to enthusiast culture as a result of this Sad

- WRXtranceformed - 03-28-2007

Well they're probably losing a lot of business due to the boy-racers who wreck them like it's their job and cause the insurance rates on them to be laughable. By toning down the looks into something more mature / less tunerish, maybe they're trying to retarget their market and make it more appealing to the majority of people who buy cars, who are family men/women.

- HAULN-SS - 03-28-2007

Yeah - I've heard stories of people paying more insurance on an STi than they would have on a vette - that kind of thing true? That's one (of the many) reasons I bought a Legacy instead. MSRP on the two cars wasn't that different, but the boy-racer attitutde they have along with the insurance rates is a big turnoff.

And yeah, this car is ugly. I think it has legacy lights, and a more smoothed in scoop..but something is awry

- Jeff - 03-28-2007

D- your car is a good looking car. I don't know why they are making all these ugly cars around one nice looking one. I bet the next Legacy will look like dog's ass too.
