more or less....the parts are there. call it .75 car.

Brakes don't work, it overheats, it rattles, steering has a squeal, interior is shit, but it was $200.

I-5 audi's are sweet in an old school way. and for 200 bucks, that's a steal and a half. any plans for it, or drive it stock and just beat on it?

haha whatever man.. dont listen to him..Id pimp that any day over an omni.. and cant beat it for 200 bucks. I had a 84 4000s quattro. cant see the back very well in the pic to see if it has the quattro spoiler ( is it quattro ???)

Oh and Blair...blow me dude. A Boosted Omni in good shape is a hell of a fun car...as I'm sure one of these would be in decent shape.
Its this car turbocharged? Auto or 5-speed? Does all the electrical stuff work?

N/A 5 cyl, 5 speed + quattro, most everything functions minus the brakes. one of the reverse lights is out, it ticks, and it overheats. The brakes work only in the last 3/4" of pedal travel, so that is job #1. After I register it.

2.2 I5. Working on it will be an issue I'm sure....it's parked at Andrew's right now with about-to-expire plates from his old Prius. I live in an apartment and work space is nonexistent, so getting it driveable is the order of the day. Sourcing parts may be difficult, and I'm sure dragging my tools home from work is goign to be a PITA, but it'll happen.

some kick ass projects on those forums too. a twin turbo V8 coupe quattro, a couple V8 quattro sedans, and a smattering of 500+ horse 1-5 quattro sedans

I dont doubt that.. do you have a boosted omni in good shape? if so Id love to see it. All im saying is you trashed his car right away, i dont know if you even know him, i dont? PGK- dont know where you are located but you should be able to find these in junkyards fairly easy. brake parts and other things you need shouldnt be to hard to find. If you are in the burg there are 3 local yards that I have seen old 4000's at
I got my 1984 4000s ( older body style with air locking front and rear diffs) its was SICK. had 16 inch BBS wheels and bilstein-h and r suspension, from a dealer i worked at for 400 bucks. I beat the living crap out of that car on and offroad. Never changed the oil or anything. shifted at rev limited all day long. I couldnt break the car as hard as i tried. Youll deff like this car. The inline5 motor sounds so badass and unique

I know my Omni is a chunk of smelly Shit. Trust me. But before I tore it apart it ran ok (a little knock :wink: ) and it had a damn good paint job and a 100% interior. Paid $300 American for it. If you think I was seriously shit talking the fellow then you missed that point to. Just a little friendly heckling. No one defends me when I get heckled for my trashy $50 Dodges. But that is neither here nor there. sub $500 cars FTW! :wink:
