BRR-SCCA Event #2 [Salem, Va - April 22] - Nis01 - 03-12-2007

Second event of the season for BRR-SCCA is being held in Salem, Va. I've heard the venue isn't too fantastic and its a bit of a travel but if any MMers want to go, I'd be interested in checking it out.

Glad to see some MM interest in making the travel. I went ahead and registered to reserve my number in case we do go. Looks like this season is shaping up nicely, can't wait to get more driving in. Big Grin

The venue is actually very nice, the last time i was down there the course layout was quite confusing and alot of people got lost.

- ScottyB - 03-12-2007

there are some great roads around salem too if you have time to wind down after the event. and Fast Freddie's is a great place to eat, on main street.

- swvadrift - 03-12-2007

Nice curvey's? No need to leave JMU if thats what you're looking for...

- swvadrift - 03-12-2007

LOL

Roads I meant

- HAULN-SS - 03-12-2007

Fast Freddies isn't a bad place to eat - but on main street I like Surf & Turf. Also Surf & Turf on main is good too - they have the best freaking Chicken Alfredo I've ever had in my life.

- Scott - 03-12-2007

- Nis01 - 03-12-2007

How long is the trip down there, anybody know off hand?

- flintster55 - 03-12-2007

From JMU it is around 1 1/2 hour trip and a little over 100 miles

What roads are you thinking of Scott? I'm sure I am probably thinking of some of the same ones you are...

110 miles exactly to my door (well, my parents) Big Grin

right off the top of my head:

-sugarloaf mountain road
-12 o'clock knob road
-roselawn road
-mt. chestnut road
-bent mountain going west i think
-of course the parkway, taking it from 220S and going up to roanoke mt. overlook

these are all within a mile or two of my house, i'm in cave spring. 12 o'clock and chestnut still give me the willies if i look over the edge of the road.

- HAULN-SS - 03-12-2007

105 miles exactly to my parents door - we might be neighbors practically.

I'll add
-Catawba Road
- Bent mountain..is an incredible road going Up the mountain - then some road i cant htink of the name of, and coming back around in SE roanoke
-220 north

- flintster55 - 03-12-2007

Wow it is 111 miles to the front door of my house. What a small world it is!

I actually drove on Roselawn, Sugarloaf, and Mt. Chesnut just for fun a few times over Spring Break while I was home this past week Big Grin
