IT Internships (NOVA Area) - navin - 03-03-2007 Thought I would ask you donkeys since most of you are in IT related fields. I'm somewhat getting into my core classes for my degree and I'd like to get some real world experience (getting paid too is nice) before actually graduating college. I dont think it would look good on my resume that all I did was hustle chikkin and beers at a restaurant So if any of you guys have any leads, pointers for scoring an internship, etc I'm all ears. As of right now my concentration is Information Security, but hell I'll go get donuts and coffee too as long as i have something! thanks f00lz. - Mike - 03-03-2007 i'll talk to my boss, but we're pretty low on physical space this year... like... there is nowhere to sit. http://www.anystream.com - navin - 03-03-2007 Good deal, thanks Mike. I vaguely remember Evan posting something last year about a summer internship at some company, but the search feature on MM is a lil hurting and I couldnt find it. - Andy - 03-03-2007 We have internships in our IT department but it's mostly network admin and the like. Let me know if you're interested. - navin - 03-03-2007 Andy! def. interested - do you know if its paid, etc? - Andy - 03-03-2007 navin Wrote:Andy! def. interested - do you know if its paid, etc? What's your email address? I'll forward you the info when I get into the office on monday - navin - 03-03-2007 ndhas@gmu.edu very appreciated! - Apoc - 03-03-2007 I can probably get you an $18/hour internship with my team but you'll actually have to be reliable and be a hard worker. (read: a recommendation pretty much guarantees a job but it's then my reputation on the line if you decide to fuck off.) - navin - 03-03-2007 I'd like to think I am a hardworker and quite reliable and organized. I'll be sure to throw on my resume that I'm a manager at the restaurant, ABC manager, and head bartender (i think).. If you could shoot me some details of what the internship involes Chris I'd appreciate it. ndhas@gmu.edu - Andy - 03-03-2007 Shit, Derecola's got the hookup. 18 bucks is sweet as hell for an internship.
- Apoc - 03-03-2007 Yeah... AOL may be hemmoraging members and laying off people by the hundreds... but they toss cash around to those who are still on the payroll. We have an intern from last year that wants to come back but my boss asked if we knew anyone who wanted an internship so that means worst case is 50/50. - navin - 03-04-2007 I'd love you long time if you got me the intern gig, tired of selling chikkin and beer.
