An execution would make people talk about him forever. A more fitting end would be for him to be derided as a quack and for him to fade into lunatic obscurity.

- BLINGMW - 06-02-2004

wow, why the hatred? I think he's dreamy!

forgive me for being out of the loop, but could somebody educate me on who this dude is real quick?

He makes "documentaries" (at least thats what he says they are). He made Bowling For Columbine and wanted to blame the columbine incident on NRA and guns. Has a new movie coming out, Farenheight 911. In a nutshell he's way far off into the left and has alot of really, really retarded conspiracy theories that dont have any factual basis or presents the facts in such a way to distort the truth, and just needs to shut the fuck up Wink

Small businesspeople are rednecks that suppress the town

I find him entertaining. Granted some of the shit he says is crazy, but it is nice to be forced to think in front of the TV now and then.

1st off... there is an entire site dedicated to how he looks... that's pretty sad. Someone wasn't smart enough to attack him intelligently.

2nd... that moore lies site has nothing that I can find about his lies... Here's something. A right wing college student (i.e. king of the world)
Quote:[Michael Moore's films] seem to be intelligent; they seem to reveal some deep inner truth, but after a few moments of scrutiny, they fall apart. If you've ever taken an organic chemistry class, you know that there's always a guy who sits up front and looks like he knows everything. You also know there's a difference between looking like you know everything and actually knowing everything. Michael Moore is an expert at looking intelligent, not at being intelligent.

Ok, on hardlylaw.net, I found one... i think
Quote:Fact: The Denver event was not a demonstration relating to Columbine, but an annual meeting (see links below), whose place and date had been fixed years in advance.
Yes, and the fact still remains: the NRA had the nerve to hold a rally 10 days after the columbine shooting in the same town.

Quote:Heston said: "As you know, we've cancelled the festivities, the fellowship we normally enjoy at our annual gatherings. This decision has perplexed a few and inconvenienced thousands. As your president, I apologize for that."
I'm deeply apologize for the many people that it inconvenienced, but holding a pro-gun rally right after that event, in the same place, less than 2 weeks later is just inconsiderate. (my opinion is that is shows the nature of the NRA... but that's just me)

I'm not saying that Moore doesn't slant the truth. He does indeed. Splicing clips back and forth can be very persuasive. The fact still remains, Heston held a pro gun rally right there less than 2 weeks after the incident. Heston also made a fool of himself in the interview. He's an old man that can't adapt to the times and doesn't realize what the purpose of 2nd amendment was. States don't need militia anymore. Other than for hunting purposes, there is no reason for people in the US to bear arms. NONE. Other countries do just fine without them and so could the US.

Quote: Manson: ...But this is not the way the media wants to take it and spin it......Because the idea of the media is: 'Keep everyone afraid and they'll consume."

Moore: "Right."

Wrong.
that's from bowlingfortruth.com
I'm sorry, but if you don't believe that the American media causes a vicious cycle of unnecessary consuming and violence, you are sheltered.

ALRIGHT.... I'm not going to start with bush, but imo there is so much going wrong in this country right now, it's sick.
1. Iraq - there were no good reasons that americans had to die in this war.
2. Education - why is our military spending more than our education spending? Why is it several times larger what our education spending is?
3. Consumption - I'm glad gas prices are high. Teaches those morons who commute in a Hummer what's right.
4. Guns - We. Do. NOT. NEED. Them.

We need a major change in the way this country is being run.

I'm going to end this rant with a quote from Andy Rooney this past sunday. Watch the video here: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/05/ ... 9533.shtml

Quote:There are men in every country on earth - mostly men - who spend full time devising new ways for us to kill each other. In the United States alone, we spend seven times as much on war as on education.

There's something wrong there. On this Memorial Day, we should certainly honor those who have died at war, but we should dedicate this day, not so much to their memory, but to the search for a way to end the idiocy of the wars that killed them.

i may not be buying an automatic weapon or something crazy anytime soon, but if i want a small weapon to keep in the house as a safety measure (break ins or what not), what do i do, get out the nine iron? and if we just stop selling non-hunting guns here (although it won't happen), we will give birth to the most lethal black market of all time....

- Maengelito - 06-03-2004

here we go again...

- Feersty - 06-03-2004

Are Moore's movies worth it, I haven't seen them.

- G.Irish - 06-03-2004

As Kaan said a while ago the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting. Gun violence is a problem in the United States but rather than trying to legislate the instrument of crime we should be trying to attack the causes of crime. Abject poverty, poor education, understaffed/underbudgeted/undertrained police forces are some of the easier targets and I'm sure if a concerted effort were put together to study other causes of violent crime we could reduce it by a lot. Outlawing guns is not going to solve the problem. Because if we were to outlaw guns today do you think criminals would say, "Oh, I guess we can't shoot people anymore..." ?

The 2nd Amendment was put in place so that the people would always have the power to defend themselves against foreign aggressors, crime, and an overzealous government. You're welcome to think that you are smarter than the founding fathers on this issue but my money is on the guys who wrote the constitution.

Really, automobiles consistently kill more people per year than guns do. I don't hear anyone saying we should outlaw cars. And cars are not even a specifically enumerated right in the Constitution.

Don't get me wrong, obviously felons, nut jobs, and children shouldn't have access to firearms. Nor should you be able to purchase a rocket launcher. But the rest should be left as a freedom for the people. If someone abuses this freedom they lose it and go to jail. Doesn't necessarily mean the rest of us should be disarmed.

- Kaan - 06-03-2004

AMEN G! i think i'm going to go clean my guns up and make them look pretty!
