FROM WHO?

And what benefit do we have paying you 30 dollars for your 30 dollar gift certificate as opposed to purchasing one from apple, where there are potentially other benefits available. (Credit card reward points, for example)

your friends are idiots.

- Ginger - 03-07-2007

Rob, that doesn't make the least bit of sense. Why would somebody trade a universally acceptable medium of exchange for an equal value, single-seller medium... widely accepted currency has been a hallmark of civilation since, well, even the Mercantilists got that one right.

YOU have to pay the price for being the holder of the limited negeotiation instrument. It's nice that you got some moron to pay $25 for like, not having to give his credit card information to Apple or something, but don't play US for idiots.

so next time you guys are selling worker books for track weekends, can I low ball you - since I could just go pay the track with my money directly?

- Ginger - 03-07-2007

I count at least one honest inquiry about the price. There's a definitive difference between lowballing and not meeting an asking price which is a direct reflection of the goods' monetary value. If you look, you'll find that worker credits are sold at discounted rates, albeit not heavily, but they're not sold at their monetary equivelancy.

If this face value card seems like a good idea please explain to us why.

If you're going to be an involved middleman then why should I buy from YOU? If somebody is selling worker credits at the track price then yes, I would go straight to the track with my money.

what other middlemen are selling for 0% margin?

I just sold mine at ~25% off and they typically go for 15% off.

- Sijray21 - 03-07-2007

if he wants to sell it for the face value then he can.
if someone wants to buy it from them they can.
if he can sell it for face value or more then good for him.

not too many people are going to buy it at face value, but good luck selling it Feersty.

the price will go down if he's eager to sell it and no one's interested.

- HAULN-SS - 03-07-2007

15% and 50% make a big difference
