Most interesting Top Gear in a while - JackoliciousLegs - 02-13-2007

I suggest everyone download it. It was a doozy.

I know part of it was mentioned in another thread, but I figured it deserved its own thread.

Here's a reaction from May to getting stoned:

i can see where this is going from 100 miles away. this thread is going to start a ton of crap.

the bottom line is this -- its all about entertainment. clarkson, may, and hammond are talented presenters and writers but in the end its meant as tongue in cheek entertainment. clarkson makes as much fun of england as any place else and has a habit of spouting off horseshit as a means of overemphasizing his point (read his katrina article...wtf). for the record i found this episode pure hilarity. i've watched almost every top gear since it started in its current form and look forward to every episode.

sadly, for anyone that has broad prejudices about the south and what it's really like if you're not familiar with the culture will be quick to draw conclusions. also, much of the show is scripted. i'm not in the mood to play sherlock, but i'd be willing to bet a huge amount of it was fake-o. where was the broken glass, dents on teh cars.....hey, we lost visual all the sudden?

p.s... did they ever explain how clarkson found that cow? haha man that was awesome

Does anyone now if/when Top Gear airs in the states? I used to catch it on the discovery channel, but I forgot the time and I heard they don't show it anymore

I think the idea was that they'd show Top Gear in the US as a pilot, but then produce an American version. I remember hearing some rumors about filming an American Top Gear but haven't seen hide nor hair of it in a long while.

the American top gear would be a big flop i think. although honestly, even a psuedo-top gear would be way better than any car show we have over here that comes on regularly.

For anyone who hasn't yet seen the episode, you can also stream the whole thing here
