Showbikes are especially annoying, because bikes should be ridden and enjoyed instead of sitting in someone's garage or living room as an ornament. Just like the dyno queen supras and vipers. There are plenty of bikes I just dont like. But so what, as long as they're ridden and enjoyed it makes no difference to me.

My aunt has a bike with more $$ in chromed crap than the cost of the bike itself and never really goes anywhere. Whats the point?

Yeah, I get the "its your $$ do whatever makes you happy" argument, well, its rubbish. A showbike does not a motorcyclist make.

Well you did title the thread: "Motorcycles that shizzle your nizzle" If said Arni Harley Custom Night Train does in fact shizzle the alleged nizzle of the defendant, Mr. Goodspeed, he does by statute meet the stated intent of the thread.

Now if the thread were "Sport bikes and race bikes that inflame thy nether regions" then Mr. Goodspeed would be out of order and subject to punitive damages.

Case dismissed.

Regardless. Most of us that enjoy riding our bikes know that things like that are just an overweight, overchromed, overbudget, image concious garage oranment penis extension that never get ridden anywhere. I cant see any attraction to something that just gets polished up for a once a month ride-in cruise, or trailered to a bike week to roll up and down the boardwalk.

Maybe I hold a double standard for bikes. Any donkey thats into cars will want to buy a supra or viper. Not everyone wants to get on a motorcycle. Its just a different group, a different pastime, that revolves around the ride and the journey and your amigos, and not the badge on the tank.

Hahaha, awesome. You'd make a good attorney Gerald. Well with that said, I would ride the piss out of that bike every day if I owned it. Same goes for the "dyno queen" poopra's. Just cause your aunt has a show bike that never gets ridden doesn't mean that that is the case for all bikes (or cars for that matter), that are in fact built to someone elses standards and taste. I get what you're saying though, I'd be pissed if someone thought spending money made them someone they aren't, but I plan to do what I want and not give a shit about anyone else Cool

Then why do you hate on those cars, and the people that like them, so much? There must've been a time when you thought something was really cool and you wanted it, not because it was the bandwagon thing to do but because you truly found an interest in it, and you said to hell with everyone else.

i'm a bike noob, but seriously all these modern sport bikes look exactly the same to me. its like they take the same thing, make the headlighs and graphics different, and sell it again next year. i guess you can only do so much with a tiny frame

Because I think its incredibly stupid. Thats my opinion. Most (not all) people like that only own a motorcycle for the image and nothing else. For most of us, riding a motorcycle is nothing to do with the image (although we'd all be lying if we didnt enjoy that aspect a little bit) and all about the enjoyment you get on them.

Ok I'll bite.

Sure, there's lots of things. But they were all because I enjoy doing it, not because I can say I own something cool. Hell, I did buy something i thought was really cool (the RC51) and it really wasnt what I expected it to be.

The thing with the supras, and the vipers, and the custom chrome harley things is that its just the status quo for garage and dyno queens. They arent really different and most of them just get used as garage ornaments and I cant see any attraction to that at all. I find something that doesnt get enjoyed for what it is completely ordinary.

sorry RJ, but this is one of the few times i'll agree with goodspeed. not cuz i like the harley, which doesnt necessarily shizzle my nizzle, but the thread wasnt called bikes that shizzle RJ's nizzle.

Interesting you bring that up. There was a magazine article a few months ago (cycle world, or motorcyclist - I forget) that did a test with the Hellcat. It had quite a few reliability problems, and everyone that saw it had the same reaction - "Wow! Cool! I love those! Can I ride it?!?!" And after riding it, everyone of of them came back incredibly dissapointed and dropped any notion of buying one. Thats kind of where I'm going with the polished up show bike. Yeah, it looks cool sitting in a studio, but...

Anyways, I give up. Off with your bling, I guess. Chrome dip it all.

Yeah I would agree. A bike with some sporting intent is a whole 'nother experience compared to cruisers. It'd be like the difference between a Mustang Convertible and a Ferrari. Yeah a Mustang Vert could be kinda cool but the Ferrari will excite the blood the way you've never felt before.

I suppose some of the more exotic cruisers might be kinda cool, like maybe a Boss Hoss or a Confederate Wraith. But for the price you'd pay for something like that you could get an exotic sportbike that would be even cooler (like a Desmosedici RR).
