So..... Anyone have any job leads? - .RJ - 12-12-2006

Just curious if any of y'alls companies are hiring. I am looking to get out in about 2 months (after the gov't cycle for the software I work on is over - no need to burn bridges). I may be turning in a resignation in February whether I have another job or not.

RJ - still at work, and will be here for quite a while longer, and cant do this shit anymore.

What do you do?

may want to take internships off... it'd reduce you to 1 page and after a few years in the real world, nobody cares about them.

- HAULN-SS - 12-12-2006

hahah...i tried to hold the laughter in, but I couldnt.

I might be getting to that point where I have enough experience that I dont have to list them, but I'm on the fence. I'm not of the opinion resumes have to be one page either.

If you're interested, I can check into our IT dept's job listing. Those bastards are always hanging out and chill as shit. I hate them all. But if you're interested...

- .RJ - 12-13-2006

What do you mean by "IT" ?

I am definately not looking to get into any kind of desktop/network support job Wink

Looking more for the consultant/analyist/etc type job, like i have now, except it shouldnt suck.

- JackoliciousLegs - 12-13-2006

We have consulting positions open if you like to travel... email me if you want info.

- .RJ - 12-13-2006

Whats your email address these days?

i'm not either, but if they are going to be more than one page they had better be worth it. two short internships isn't "worth it." just my opinion from doing a dozen or so interviews recently. can't tell you how tired i am of 5+ page resumes... nobody gives a shit that you programmed a VAX, but haven't touched a computer since 1972. christ!

- BLINGMW - 12-13-2006

they're creating new jobs pretty frequently at my place, I'll see what the current list is.... that is, if you want to live in Roanoke! Confusedhock:

- HAULN-SS - 12-13-2006

Speaking of SWVA - Northrop grumman is opening up a place with 400 people in the bristol area I think. Might be a nice change of scenery. Not quite sure when it opens though

- Andy - 12-13-2006

Sorry RJ,

I really don't know what you computer monkeys do except surf the web and give me a hard time when I eff my magic box up. But I'll forward any comp stuff your way, never the less.

- .RJ - 12-13-2006

I dont want any "IT" helper monkey/support jobs Wink

- Andy - 12-13-2006

Mojo gets compensated pretty well but I can understand. Picking lice all day gets monotonous.

- Apoc - 12-13-2006

Today's the day people axed in the mass layoff get their email. When you're safe, it's kinda like the first day of school where you're excited to see who's coming/going.

Needless to say, we prolly won't have openings for awhile.

- .RJ - 12-13-2006

You guys get laid off by email?

Wow... thats worse than getting dumped by email.

- Jewels - 12-13-2006

I'm ina similar position, as I'm in need of a new job. Only I put my two weeks notice in on Monday. I got tired of the continuous shit I was taking from one of my bosses, on top of the fact that I have an hour commute into the city to take continuous shit from her. So I'm really just looking for admin assistant stuff, but not in the city. I'd like the keep the commute down to nothing over 30 minutes. So if any of you all hear of anything please let me know.
