Welcome to my world of Racing Accidents - NTIman - 12-12-2006 As some of you know, I help out a racing team who races primarily in Hagerstown Md. Here is a video of an accident that happened there a few years ago. http://www.whackedoutsports.com/index.p ... y=19&hit=1 Just for the record, the guy actually only broke his leg (the TV guy says he was ok). - Ginger - 12-12-2006 WOW. I've got nothing else to say. That was fucking brutal. - NTIman - 12-12-2006 That gap is actually the pit entrance. I never really thought of it, until i saw this video. Unfortunately, its located at right about the place that the Late Model Drivers have to lift, so they're probably going around 130 mph. - Ginger - 12-12-2006 NTIman Wrote:That gap is actually the pit entrance. Yeah, I thought that was some stupid arse commentary. FWIW. - Feersty - 12-12-2006 Wow, how soon after did he do his next race? - NTIman - 12-12-2006 I'm not sure. Obviously, the car was a total loss, so I imagine it would have been at least the next season or so. He walks with a really bad limp after that accident. That type of car, however, is basically a rollcage on wheels. They are built pretty awesome safety wise. - Evan - 12-12-2006 holy shit that commentary was in poor taste. Trying to put an "americas funniest home videos" attempt at humor and goofy sound effects in a life threatening situation. - NTIman - 12-12-2006 Yeah, the commentary definately sucked. It also tried to make racers look like idiots. Not all dirt track guys are dumbass rednecks. Surprisingly enough, there is a reason for that hole in the guardrail. |
