Angel Eyes: Rice or Nice? - WRXtranceformed - 11-24-2006 I was searching around bored last night, looking for stuff to spruce up the IS when I found this conversion kit. Tell me what you guys think? ![]() ![]() and then this is the nicer looking color, but more expensive: ![]() ![]() The first one is like $72 shipped from Ebay, probably a Taiwanese knockoff, while the second one is $175 shipped from a vendor on the IS300 forums that also posts up on Ebay. What do you guys think? It would require taking the headlights apart, but I've done this 3 times before on my car and a few others. I guess what I'm concerned about is taking them apart again if one of the rings goes out. They're supposed to have a 50,000 hour life, but who knows how long they last with all of that direct heat exposure from the HIDs. I think they look REALLY good though, but I do have a touch of rice in me. What do you guys think if I was to get them, cheapo version or more expensive + warranty? Here's the site for the expensive ones. The company who sells them doesn't have the best Ebay trader rating btw: http://www.advancedautomotiveconcepts.c ... Main.shtml Discuss. - .RJ - 11-24-2006 Rice, but do it anyways
- Andy - 11-24-2006 BMW, you queer. I've never seen a nice conversion. EVVAR. Also, a friend of mine did it to his civic. One of the angel eyes burned out then it was promptly stolen at Hoffman Center. Yes, I said that right. His head lights. They cut his bumper cover and stole them. They also stole his radio too. - WRXtranceformed - 11-24-2006 True, but that was a civic. When do they not get stuff stolen off of them. - white_2kgt - 11-24-2006 euro trash - G.Irish - 11-24-2006 I think they're sweet, go for it. - Mike - 11-24-2006 i like them on cars with stock projectors... guys that do them on civics? rice. - Andy - 11-24-2006 Don't do that to an IS. Please. Please don't do it. - Feersty - 11-24-2006 I think they look good but plus one for being on BMWs only. - Nick325is - 11-24-2006 They don't look too terrible on the IS....but leave them for newer BMWs. -Nick - ScottyB - 11-24-2006 whatever you do don't get ebay knockoffs. angel eyes are popular with audi's and i have never ever heard a good story in the long run come from anyone who bought cheap ebay knocks. they either leak, fall apart, or fall apart while leaking. - bassmangrammy - 11-24-2006 Yeah... BMW ftw - Evan - 11-25-2006 they look like shit on everything, BMWs included - Apoc - 11-25-2006 Feersty Wrote:I think they look good but plus one for being on BMWs only. - Nis01 - 11-26-2006 I'll allow you to get these but you have to turbo the car first. - D_Eclipse9916 - 11-26-2006 Evan Wrote:they look like shit on everything, BMWs included +1 - bassmangrammy - 11-26-2006 hmmm... ***cancelling order for angel eyes*** hahaha - D_Eclipse9916 - 11-26-2006 Sorry Aaron, dont like the Angel Eyes, like HIDs DEFINITELY! but not angel eyes, dont know why, just not my flavor. - Jeff - 11-26-2006 ehh...most exterior lighting that serves no purpose is tacky in my mind. - ViPER1313 - 11-27-2006 Aaron, don't listen to DJ - he has no taste  Angel eyes on BMWs FTW! |
