Junk/Salvage Yards - Maengelito - 11-07-2006

I know lots of people always want to pull parts and we probably use all sorts of different salvage places. I was thinking we could get this stickied and have people add the contact info for local junkyards/salvage yards to call.

M&M is a great resource, I just wish I could walk around and pull my own stuff for a discount. Some more:

Chesterfield Auto Parts
5111 Old Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, VA
804-233-5481
They have two locations about 20 minutes apart with tons of cars. You pull it and the prices are awesome!

Breeden's Used Auto Parts
Orange, VA
540-672-0227
Very limited selection and I don't think they have any kind of look-up to see if they have a particular car on hand. Not worth any special trip unless you know they have a particular art. They'll pull parts, or you can.

F&K Auto parts
893 Liberty St. Harrisonburg, VA
540-434-3403
Another pretty good resource. I've never bought anything, but we used them a lot when I was working for Steven Toyota if a customer didn't want something new, or wanted to save money. Pretty good selection and they are automated so they can look up a lot of stuff and see if they have it in stock. They also have the ability to search on other salvage yards for parts if they are linked into the network. For the most part they pull it, though I think you can do it as well (I was able to once).

I can add three for Harrisonburg:

French's - 540-896-1030
Hillside - 540-896-9967
Cupp's - 540-289-5202

...And, perhaps the best resource I've found if one knows the specific part they need is:

For those yards that subscribe (which appear to be a ton), you can search for a part. I recently located a part for my truck in Richmond. It was awesome.

F&K is where I bought my M50 motor, and they were very easy to deal with. For reference, the M50 from a 1995 525i, no accessories, included coilpacks and wiring harness for around 650 dollars plus tax.

Hillside is another place I have bought many parts. For small things, they will occasionally let you go up "on the hill" to pull your part, unless you're Asian. Then you are SOL. But reasonable prices, especially for little shit.

anything in NoVA?

There is a yard up by where I used to work in Laurel, MD but its a hike

- .RJ - 11-07-2006

Brandywine in MD is the closest decent yard - but its an hour away.

Jack's Autoparts

It's off of 4 mile run in Alexandria. It's small but they can order stuff too.

- lillitnn92 - 08-22-2008

went to J&K today, it was empty. anyone know what happened? is Hillside still open? i need caliper brackets for the hatch like bad.

- Mike - 08-22-2008

i have a half dozen calipers you could have for free.

- terdcivic - 08-25-2008

I just called M&M and they didn't have the oil pan i need. the guy referred me to Francis Auto Salvage, which is about 15 miles north of harrisonburg. they had my part =)

their number is 800-443-1303

For NOVA there is Crazy Ray's Pick and Pull. It's nice but tends to have older cars out there. I've found a few e30's from time to time.

If anyone is near Lynchburg, VA any time, Cunningham Brother's Pick n' Save is off 29.

Also CD Auto Recycling off 29 on Depot road.
