Project Hatch version 2.0 - navin - 10-25-2006

Since Mike already has the OG Project Hatch title - bastard...

Anyways I just wanted to keep somewhat of a log of some updates/mainteance/new parts/cool pictures and I am too lazy to make a website for that, sooo ennjooooy it!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I'm sitting in class, bored... Most people dont know but finally moving into a house w/a garage so there is gonna be plenty of progress/wrenching on the EG. Plus the kegerator will keep me from going out to the bars.

Anyways, 2 weeks ago I went to basically the last event of the season I can afford/tires can go too.

Summit Point, WV - Pretty good time out there, my first time in Group 2 (Intermediate). The first day was fucking awesome, car felt great w/the new Tein RA's and there was barely any sign of understeer except when the Azenis overheated and were just a grease factory. Did not give any point by's all day Saturday, except to a 600 RWHP twin turbo mustang :eek3: Had plenty of open space on the track and got to work on lots of aspects such as new lines, trail braking, etc...

Now Sunday, well this is a different story. My first session out was going alright, was feeling a lot more cocky/confident. I finally had my first off after doing 4 track days. Nothing to bad, just trail braking down into Turn 1, couldnt catch it as the kept on rototating. I think i went 50%, as I was able to save 2 spin-a-rooos. Drove off the track and after that I decided trail braking was not something I was gonna try anymore, but instead try using the access road at Turn 1 (if youve been there, you know)..

Had another bad spin out at Turn 8 (I believe), was trying to go flat out through 8 - balls shrunk and lifted and went for quite a ride. This was my last session and after I followed a Caddy CTS-V around and he stuffed it into the wall we (my instructor and I) called it a day.

cliffnotes :

* 120 MPH down back straight is Confusedhock:
* Stop lifting, grow bigger balls
* Saving my ass in turn 8 was wicked.

This should be updated as I start getting the car ready for next season, and order more bliiiiing

If you dont want to upgrade to the integra radiator (fabbin' up custom mounts, etc)..

- Mike - 10-25-2006

nicey nice! i'll try that since i only get hot on the hottest days at the hardest tracks.

- navin - 10-25-2006

Might as well spring for a Del-Sol dual-core - that guy Kenny (white EG hatch in group2) has one and said he has not run into any cooling problems with that..

- ScottyB - 11-21-2006

that shifter is pretty cool, seriously. kind of reminds me of the WRC style ones that sit at elbow height

- navin - 11-21-2006

The position is nice - i'm not sure if the shift distance has been extended though.

I'll find out when i actually drive in the car.... next year Tongue

- Chris - 11-21-2006

cool shifter!

- Mike - 11-21-2006

navin Wrote:The position is nice - i'm not sure if the shift distance has been extended though.

of course it has.

- navin - 11-22-2006

Not sure how you figure that, but i'm all ears..

i really liked how the shifter felt before, stock civic shifter + gsr linkage...

so who knows.

- Feersty - 11-22-2006

Nice additions Navin.
