But better. - Sijray21 - 10-23-2006 Evan Wrote:"teaser" shots are lame. So stop being ghey and post the story. exactly tell us the story you impulsive bastard! - .RJ - 10-23-2006 Phew.... ok... story time! I've been not-so-secretly watching the RC51 market for a few months just to see whats out there, what the bikes are going for, doing some research on how they hold up. A few weeks ago I got an offer from an acquaintance to ride one, an '05 with some bling pipes on it. I was only out for a few miles on it but I was pretty much sold on it. Its got great power, awesome sound, and it definately looks the part. It is a bit clumsy and top-heavy at low speeds but I suspect that all goes away when you turn it to 11. I had seen the ad for the bike on ebay on Wednesday and stewed on it for a bit... it was exactly what I wanted - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... :IT&ih=017 So, on friday I emailed the guy asking for his phone #, and I also filled out a loan app with my bank, rather than completely emptying my savings account... Instant approval. Hmm.. even the bank thinks this is a good idea, so I called the guy, we struck a deal, I sent a deposit and made plans to pick it up sunday ![]() 8:30 am - Get up, shower, load the ramp, tie downs, handlebar tie down, laptop, dvd's, bike gear, etc in the truck. Andrew shows up at 9 and we roll out. 9:45 am - After filling up the truck, getting bagels and coffee we hit the road and are heading towards Ohio. 11:30 am - Andrew says something about his fist. I make repeated commentary about fisting his sister. He gets bored of this and plays some MotoGP DVD's on the laptop - more better. 4:00 pm - Arrive at the guy's house to pick up the bike. Test ride goes well, cash exchanged, we load the bike up and hit the road by 5. 6:30 pm - We stop to eat at the worst wendy's evAr. A group of 17 y/o girls is running the joint, and while you might expect that I would be overjoyed at this situation, them putting together an order was a bit like herding cats. Total disaster. The food sucked. Then I go for a refill, and she starts pouring the wrong soda... I mention this and she says Wendys Girl: oh, its ok, people say stuff and i'm just like... i forget! RJ: so, in one ear and out the other, huh WG: Yeah!!!! RJ: *sigh* 8:00 pm - I stop for gas at Sheetz. Its full of college students and rednecks, just like JMU. 9:00 pm - I amuse myself by running over traffic cones in a construction area. Andrew asks what state we're in, I have no clue. 11:45 pm - Bike is home, unloaded and parked in the garage. I spend at least 15 minutes just sitting and staring at it. It was probably more like an hour. I'm really not sure ![]() Vid - http://boostrot.net/gallery/d/5776-1/MVI_3608.AVI (right click, save as) The camera vid doesnt really do the sound justice... its deep, loud, and the ground rumbles. Its most excellent. - Mike - 10-23-2006 eh heh heh... well done! - Dragon - 10-23-2006 Ducati hat while "riding" a honda, you traitor. - .paul - 10-23-2006 welcome to the vtwin side. r0x0r my s0x0r. what no track time with it? I do not blame you. for once you have something nice - do not take the risk just yet
- .RJ - 10-23-2006 It will be my nice street bike ![]() The damn thing is absolutely mint. I may track it later, we'll see how comfortable I am with it, and whether I can get the racecar sold to fund a track-only bike. - .paul - 10-23-2006 w00t - now we can be elitest whores with vtwin meets and such. - Sijray21 - 10-23-2006 .RJ Wrote: we must photo-chop this - hilarious nice pick-up and i can't wait to see/hear this thing in real-life! - Beej - 10-23-2006 Your latest bad decision > mine. The guy that sold that has been in the e30 scene for awhile (if it's the same bike...he recently put his up for sale and I'm pretty sure he lives in Ohio)...small world. - Apoc - 10-23-2006 twins > * I give you proof. (possible nws) http://i20.ebayimg.com/01/i/07/9d/35/fb_1.JPG - .RJ - 10-23-2006 He had a red 80's 5-series I think. Maybe it was a 6-series... either way, he told andrew it had t3h boost and ran 12's at the dragstrip. - Chris - 10-23-2006 damn thats nice RJ! good find! - ScottyB - 10-23-2006 so, can it go less than 1.2 zillion miles per hour? ha, sweet sweet bike. try to keep the front on the ground now  - .RJ - 10-23-2006 ScottyB Wrote:try to keep the front on the ground now  I will "try".... but getting hard on the twistgrip in any of the first 3 gears will probably bring the front end off the ground
