MB "Ask the Engineers" Commercials - CaptainHenreh - 09-19-2006
Is it just me, or do these commercials suck out loud?
I mean, the first one I heard, asking the engineer about balancing value and style, went something like this:
"Dear MB, how do I balance Value and Style"
and their reply went along the lines of:
"Dear Sir, We took our C230, and instead of giving it some balls and a manual transmission, like our closest competition, BMW, we put on a stainless steel exhaust and blingy 18" wheels. That's the style part. For value, well, erm, that is, uh, CHECK OUT OUR 18" WHEELS!"
Or, the second one I just heard, "Dear Engineers: What if I want a sedan, but I'm a soccer mom, and so I think I "need" an SUV?" Engineers:"Buy an SUV."
Sorry, I have to hear it on the radio every time I go to work, and it makes me want to break something.

the Dr Z commercials on the tv are equally asinine.
my favorite was the "how do you merge an american car company with a german one and keep the best of both?"
"we germans pull a blitzkreig on the board of directors and kick out the silly americans, because all we wanted was the american name and the chance to slap trendy sheetmetal on our crappy last generation mercedes chassis and call it an american car for the silly buy american crowd"

Sigh...I want the old Chrysler back...at least then they could slap trendy sheetmetal around old Neon Chassis vehicles and redesign the cloud car...4 times...Oh yeah, and still use parts from K cars. DAMN YOU EATON!!!! YOU TRAITOROUS BASTARD!
