Dyno results for the 2007 Sky Redline! - WRXtranceformed - 09-14-2006

Holy shit!

200 ft/lbs at like 2200 rpms! Very very impressive. And that's an Ecotec engine, so you know it'll handle being modded to the gates of Hell and back.

Going to be a fun little car!

Here's a video of the dyno run:
Clicky!

Effin sweet. Now for a coupe/shooting brake.

- KPWSerpiente - 09-14-2006

I'm very tempting to get one sometime next year...I'll deff be test driving a Redline soon.

Nice T, looks like it's going to be a fun car.

Supposedly the stock turbo is running 20psi. I have no clue what the stock turbo is on that thing though.

- Andy - 09-15-2006

Wait. Capable of 20 PSI of boost or that dyno is with the Turbo on 20PSI.

I don't know if I want to be scooting around town on 20 psi.

- WRXtranceformed - 09-15-2006

No stock the turbo is set for 20psi.

With a 9.2 compression ratio, you can bet it's a small turbo. Combine that and direct injection and I doubt you'll even notice turbo lag. Power curve seems pretty linear.

I do think there's a power cap, (because of the DI) and you're probably going to be going to the factory for upgrades for a while.

edit: If anyone cares about this motor: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://media.gm.com/us/gm/en/news/events/autoshows/06ny/brands/saturn/06_NY_Sat_SkyRLineTurbo.htm">http://media.gm.com/us/gm/en/news/event ... eTurbo.htm</a><!-- m -->

Looks really cool! I didn't see this coming at all. I figured it'd be a Saab motor, just a 2.0 turbo, but this is a real peice of technology! I'm...impressed. Wouldn't surprise me if we saw this motor in a few more things, with GM taking a page from the Mazda playbook...

Is it the same one on a Beetle Turbo. I was changing a friends oil and was thinking, "That is one gay looking turbo."

- Mike - 09-18-2006

wonder if it'll beat an s2k around a race track? +20hp + gobs of torque + 150lbs... i'm gonna guess it'll win in a straight line, but track? nope.

I don't know, Mike. It's cousin, the Solstice, has been racking up wins in SCCA's Showroom stock B

I was watching Price is Right yesterday. This obese lady in a blaze orange sweater won a Viper and a Saturn Sky in the Showcase showdown. Her showcase alone was worth $89,739. She said it was 89,500$. She was within $250 so she won both! In total she won 146,715$ in winnings. I about crapped myself.

The only reason to watch Price is Right is if you are unemployed, deathly ill, or retired...

Sport Compact Car Wrote:Fortunately, the S2000 now accelerates quicker. It pulls to 100 mph in 15.10 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds quicker than before. And there's also an improvement in roll-on acceleration, the kind of performance you feel on the street, because it accelerates 0.18 seconds quicker to 70 mph from 50 mph. Before the clutch went, we also measured a 0-to-60-mph time of 6.4 seconds and a quarter-mile run of 14.4 seconds at 97.2 mph, which are also quicker.

(From Here Wharrr be ye gettin' yerrr numberrrs?)

sports compact car's number are as valuable as skin care products to a leper. s2k = 14.0 1/4, 5.2 0-60. those are pretty much THE numbers you'll find everywhere.
