I have seen this over on the Subaru boards. That car just got trashed but like you said.. the safety equipment worked beautifully. Still amazes me that he actually starts the car up in anticipation of driving away.

What kind of mount was he using??? Did you see how much the camera moved during cornering, using the pass A-pillar as a ref.

yeah thats padding.
most evos we see at the track have zip for saftey equipment. STis too. These cars are too damn fast not to have saftey equipment. (and that guy wasnt even pushing the car even close to its limits) I drive a little 95 whp miata and I have everything that money can buy. Welded cage, head restraint FIA seat, head restraint, etc. This is one reason I dont do much instructing anymore.

hock: are those EVOs usually set up that stiff or does he just have some recockulous swaybars on it? From the way the wheel was jumping around through the corners that thing didn't look like it was keeping all the tires on the ground very often. No body roll, hopping around, looked dangerously unforgiving to me....

Might want to fast forward through the talking in the beginning. The video car is the Crawford STi... very similar potential in the two cars.

yeah, that one is a holy shit moment. From what I have seen at Wiollow, the dirt/sand is what the off track landscape is. sort of like the gravel trap in T10 at summit.
