Liquid Shmiquid: The unlikeliness of a liquid bomb - G.Irish - 08-17-2006 Basically this article is saying that the explosive that was purportedly to be used in the planned terror plot is sufficiently difficult to make, certainly difficult enough that the terrorists were unlikely to kill anyone but themselves. A humorous read for sure. Quote:The genius of this scheme is that TATP is relatively easy to detonate. But you must make enough of it to crash the plane, and you must make it with care to assure potency. One needs quality stuff to commit "mass murder on an unimaginable scale," as Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Stephenson put it. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/08/17 ... rror_labs/ Still, I'm a bit skeptical. It could simply be that authorities told the media it was TATP when it was in fact something else. Or maybe the terrorists had worked out an ingenious way of getting the logistics right. - Goodspeed - 08-17-2006 Interesting stuff....England is going to have a hell of a time dealing with these homebrew terrorists, thats whats most important. I just went through a lot of flying this summer as usual, and no matter how annoying it is, I just don't see how anyone can get bombs past anyone these days....they're saying explosive shoes are still undetectable, but now with the no liquid thing, its certainly not easy. I'm still moving to Canada though. To hell with all this BS  - CaptainHenreh - 08-18-2006
