I am going to check out a 2001 Kawasaki Ninja 500r with 4,600 miles on Tuesday. My dad is coming along and we are going to take his pick up truck. It is very likely if it is in good condition that I will buy it. I will keep you guys posted. I am really excited about this. :lol:

My boy just sold his Ninja 500R. Nice bike I thought but I don't know anything about them. I do know it is slower than my car from a roll but I've heard that getting something a little less devestating for your first bike (is it?) is a really really good idea. Hit us up with the details after you've checked it out. I really am thinking about learning to ride sometime later this year.

No I didn't get it. I went to look at it on Tuesday, and had to think about it a little bit more and then I was going to go back today but it already got sold to another joker. So I am still on the prowl for a newer 500R.

When you find a good deal you generally don't have time to "sit around and think about it." I did that far too many times while looking for a car, and it resulted in a process that took 2 years.

I'll second Mike's advice.
When I was buying the IV, the turnaround time for sales was literally 3 days. I knew literally every mkIV for sale on several different web sites. When this one popped up, I called him literally 4 hours after he put it up on the net. He already had 4 offers on it, all of which were coming to check it out that weekend. I made it there first on Friday, and came with a down payment, hence I got the car. Ever since, that has been my philosophy for buying a car.

I got a 1999 Kawa Ninja 500R with a Muzzy exhaust, flush mount front turn signals and 11,744 miles on it with two Vega helmets, Joe Rocket gloves, and a summer Gericke jacket for $2000. So stoked right now. Pictures are coming soon!!!!!!
I now have 3 helmets, 2 jackets, and 3 pair of gloves.

All I have at the moment is an Arai Helmet, I'm interested in a set of gloves and a jacket.
