sorry to hear that man! how much tree are we talkin about?

we had a wicked storm here in Atlanta last night too

- Sijray21 - 07-05-2006

holy crap balls, everyone/everything ok? Confusedhock:

i spent my 4th drunk at the Bar watching the Italy/Germany game - then even more liquored up on the rooftop of a DC apartment complex with some friends to watch the fireworks.

- .RJ - 07-05-2006

slept in till noon... spent the afternoon dragging footpegs in great falls w/ andrew and matt, and then off a BBQ in the evening with lots of fire.

- Dragon - 07-05-2006

Muahahaha, Fireworks rule!!! Damn Norton for telling me no more rockets. Ah well at least I had a shit ton of mortars to make up for it.

- Ginger - 07-05-2006

I never knew marriage could do that to you! Poor guy.

The mortars were fun! Had a good time, though, glad I could tag along.

A tree didn't land on my car, but the storm completely fubar'd my ATM. This should prove to be an interesting day.

TTIWWOP

- Dragon - 07-05-2006

Don't look at me for pictures, I was shooting off the fireworks, kinda hard to light em and take pictures at the same time.

- PDenbigh - 07-05-2006

As posted on another thread:

We played with fire:

(things like this happen when a car guy lives next to the owner of a machine shop)

- Ginger - 07-05-2006

Matt, you should get a link to the picture that Julia took of her friend running through the fireworks

"Car" or "Truck"?

Too much fun with the M-80's? "Hmm, lets tie these around this tree and see if it will....."

Lightning struck one of the larger limbs and it split off the side of the tree and landed on the mazda. Crushed the hood, little bit of the roof and 1 or 2 fenders. Already called insurance, need to setup an apt w/ the body shop now.

Actually, w/ state farm it is pretty painless. You just call them up, they transfer you to a claim 'team'. They take all the info and recommend a body shop. If you use one if their shops all you have to deal with after that point is the body shop. They write up the estimate and take the car right away to start work on it (StateFarm claims come first at most of the shops, the one I'm using put SF claim cars at the front of the line). After the repairs are done you pay the body shop your ins deductable and drive away. I've dealt with this in the past and its usually VERY simple, easy and quick.

I'll get some pics up tonight. We were w/o power all last night, it finally came on this AM at 5.

that sucks chad. just be sure you do use one of their approved shops because its a huge pain in the ass if you dont. i was a moron when i had my subaru worked on and i dont think the panels are straight still to this day. it'll be a huge hassle for me to coordinate something to get it fixed right which i keep saying that i'm gonna do, but havent gotten around to doing

Yea, I am, there is a DarCars Ford about 5 miles from my house that is on their list. I'm going to take it by there. If they turn out to be a huge pain in the ass about it I'll let them do the work. If I don't get a good feeling about them I'll tell them to sit on a stick and pick another shop.

From the garage,

So, anyone want to come over and play w/ a chain saw and chipper?

- HAULN-SS - 07-05-2006

Fuck yeah, State Farm 4 Lyfe. I have never had a bit of problem off them - never had a rate hike after two claims + two speeding tickets. For both my SS and my subaru, i'm only paying like 550/year with a 250 deductible.

I didn't drink a damn thing although I had unlimited access to all the Amstel Light and Heine I could want. I had a burger, pasta salad, and a turkey sausage cooked to crisp. Oh yeah and watched pretty much the whole Italy Germany match.
