FUCK! - SameeRR - 06-30-2006 I was fucking riding 95 north on my way home from work like an hour ago. I was in the right lane and this fucking car just starts merging over into my lane. i laid on the horn, grabbed both brakes, back tire locked and dragged and he hits me. He hit my sideview mirror and turned it in on me, and i stuck out my arm and pushed off of his car, somehow staying up, got in front of him, gave him the finger while i was looking back at him (seriously) and just thanked god that i stayed up and there was no damage to me or my bike. But still, it was fucking scary as shit man. - mpg9999 - 06-30-2006 Wow, glad to hear your ok. I would have tried to get him to pullover, or follow him and call the police when he stoped to report a hit and run. - Kaan - 06-30-2006 bike horns are worthless... add the loudest horn you can get on the system without popping fuses i'm putting one on my bike that will make soccer mom shit herself.
- Feersty - 06-30-2006 were in the left middle or right of the right lane? I would be hugging the solid white line adjacent to the shoulder. - Mike - 06-30-2006 Feersty Wrote:I would be hugging the solid white line adjacent to the shoulder. did you pay attention in the msf? you do not want to do that because it invites people in to your lane earlier than they should. - SameeRR - 07-01-2006 in that persons defense, i see how my lane coulda looked like an open, traffic free lane. i was in that fuckers blindspot. i didnt bother getting the plate numbers or anything because thankfully no damage was done. - Dragon - 07-01-2006 Mike Wrote:Exactly.Feersty Wrote:I would be hugging the solid white line adjacent to the shoulder. - Feersty - 07-01-2006 Mike Wrote:Feersty Wrote:I would be hugging the solid white line adjacent to the shoulder. I forgot then. But I was seeing how the lane Sameer was in led to the guy moving over. If he is in the right right lane he has more time to react to some jackass moving over and also has the shoulder as his easy out. Did you get a loud ass exhaust yet? - WRXtranceformed - 07-01-2006 Wow, glad you're ok dude. I would be frightened to ride a bike on that road myself. - BLINGMW - 07-01-2006 that's pretty wild, glad you came out undamaged! hock:
- stevegula - 07-01-2006 You're defending a person that nearly killed you because they didn't check their blindspot? - .RJ - 07-01-2006 Feersty Wrote:If he is in the right right lane he has more time to react to some jackass moving over and also has the shoulder as his easy out. Rob, shut up. Seriously. You werent there. Sameer obviously did the best he could and came out unscathed, which is ultimately the best outcome in that situation. - SameeRR - 07-01-2006 stevegula Wrote:You're defending a person that nearly killed you because they didn't check their blindspot? Yeah, I know it sounds weird. And if there was any damage to me or the bike I wouldn't be saying that. And like RJ said, you do what you gotta do to come out alive. In this case I just had to stiff arm the guy to push away from him. - ScottyB - 07-01-2006 whoa, way to keep your balance man. pushing off a car at highway speed would have me on my ass i'm sure. glad you and the bike are ok, i bet the people behind you shat their drawers seeing that go down. - SameeRR - 07-01-2006 haha, yeah man, i never thought of that. - Evan - 07-02-2006 wow. direct contact with a car at highway speeds. thats no joke. a general question, when Im driving a miata, I stay aware of other peoples blind spots, and try to avoid staying in them by either speeding up or slowing down. Is this something you guys think about on bikes too? - Mike - 07-02-2006 Evan Wrote:Is this something you guys think about on bikes too? yep, even moreso than in a car. - mrbaggio - 07-03-2006 Evan Wrote:wow. direct contact with a car at highway speeds. thats no joke. Yep, NEVER ride in the blind spot. Adjust your speed or lane position until you can see the drivers face. - ScottyB - 07-03-2006 mrbaggio Wrote:Evan Wrote:wow. direct contact with a car at highway speeds. thats no joke. especially with those tractor trailer drivers. i'm either behind or in front, because i was cut off once and once was enough. - G.Irish - 07-03-2006 mrbaggio Wrote:Evan Wrote:wow. direct contact with a car at highway speeds. thats no joke. Yeah when I'm riding around and slowly coming up on a car I'll give it a squirt of speed to make the pass quickly so I'm not in their blind spot for any amount of time. |
