I was fucking riding 95 north on my way home from work like an hour ago. I was in the right lane and this fucking car just starts merging over into my lane. i laid on the horn, grabbed both brakes, back tire locked and dragged and he hits me.
He hit my sideview mirror and turned it in on me, and i stuck out my arm and pushed off of his car, somehow staying up, got in front of him, gave him the finger while i was looking back at him (seriously) and just thanked god that i stayed up and there was no damage to me or my bike.
But still, it was fucking scary as shit man.

in that persons defense, i see how my lane coulda looked like an open, traffic free lane. i was in that fuckers blindspot.
i didnt bother getting the plate numbers or anything because thankfully no damage was done.

I forgot then. But I was seeing how the lane Sameer was in led to the guy moving over. If he is in the right right lane he has more time to react to some jackass moving over and also has the shoulder as his easy out.

Yeah, I know it sounds weird. And if there was any damage to me or the bike I wouldn't be saying that.
And like RJ said, you do what you gotta do to come out alive. In this case I just had to stiff arm the guy to push away from him.

when Im driving a miata, I stay aware of other peoples blind spots, and try to avoid staying in them by either speeding up or slowing down. Is this something you guys think about on bikes too?

Yep, NEVER ride in the blind spot. Adjust your speed or lane position until you can see the drivers face.

especially with those tractor trailer drivers. i'm either behind or in front, because i was cut off once and once was enough.

Yeah when I'm riding around and slowly coming up on a car I'll give it a squirt of speed to make the pass quickly so I'm not in their blind spot for any amount of time.
