no world cup threads? CONTAINS FINALS SPOILER - Maengelito - 06-15-2006 i thought there were a lot of soccer fans on this board. check out this awesome vid. i can do this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEo7-Jif ... ronaldinho - G.Irish - 06-15-2006 Use the scroll wheel fool: http://mmsports.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4499 - ScottyB - 06-15-2006 i love stuff like that. they make it look so freaking easy! - Evan - 06-15-2006 call me crazy, but the only one that was all that impressive was the neon yellow shirt girl.... - ScottyB - 06-15-2006 Evan Wrote:call me crazy, but the only one that was all that impressive was the neon yellow shirt girl.... not bashing your opinion, but have you personally played much soccer? i say that because i can honestly say that if i wasn't a player myself i'd agree, but having played, i find it alot more impressive. - Evan - 06-15-2006 i have indeed played soccer, several years in highschool and college. i didnt say it was easy, just not commercial-on-tv-wow-factor impressive. Skilled, yet garden variety footwork - Ryan T - 06-15-2006 soccer sucks. just my opinion. - Sijray21 - 06-15-2006 Ryan T Wrote:soccer sucks. just my opinion. lol, i smell old repressed memories that's some good footwork IMO - i've never played however. I wish i could have though i have 0 foot/eye or just foot coordination if it somes to anything but running. - G.Irish - 06-15-2006 Evan Wrote:i have indeed played soccer, several years in highschool and college. Yeah I think the point of the rest of the commercial was just to have people from all of the world playing. The person in yellow was Ronaldinho (that's a man baybee!). Watching him play is truly nasty. - Beej - 06-15-2006 It's a goddamn shame that soccer doesn't get much attention in America. - Nick325is - 06-15-2006 I've been trying to watch the games when I am not at work. Hopefully the US will do better this weekend then they did in their opening game. I find soccer much more exciting then football...however I am alittle biased because I played soccer for a long time. Nick - ScottyB - 06-15-2006 Beej Wrote:It's a goddamn shame that soccer doesn't get much attention in America. that and rallying. if there was high quality coverage of both i could die a happy man. wait, i need to drive the 'ring once too........then i can die a happy man - Feersty - 06-15-2006 I am surprisingly really into this year (probably just to be different). The Iran, Mexico match was amazing. Sucks during the week, I miss every damn match. - KPWSerpiente - 06-15-2006 Some of ya'll front like it is your job. You don't watch soccer. Watching the Cup every four years doesn't count. You don't play soccer...you juggle every day? Pick up games after work? Ever coached? I mean...be real Evan...average footwork? I had a ball out at the MM meet a few years ago and you didn't touch it once... This rant isn't really even directed at anyone on this board, just the average American who tells me they want to see Brasil (sure, go ahead and spell it like you speak Portuguese) win or how Argentina is their favorite team (you can't name two players off the top of your head...don't say otherwise). I understand that soccer is not huge in this country yet...but before you google his name, tell me who Taylor Twellman is and which player on our roster was selected over him. Seriously...if you follow the international game that closely I'd love to talk about Iran vs Mexico or T@T vs Sweden or any of the other sweet match ups that have been played out. Just don't remind me about our opener, or tell me Italia is a fucking powerhouse. -T - CaptainHenreh - 06-15-2006 KPWSerpiente Wrote:Some of ya'll front like it is your job. Good to have you back, T! - G.Irish - 06-15-2006 Settle down Travis no one is trying to challenge your soccer knowledge. Be happy that more people are interested this year than there were 4 years ago. - Evan - 06-15-2006 Travis you crack me up. Everything is a sword fight to you No one is saying they have better skills than that video. No one is saying that they are the biggest soccer fans on the planet. And most importantly, no one gives a shit that you think you are. - Mike - 06-16-2006 I too am a bad person because I am interested in the World Cup and don't know names except for a few stars. I have watched pretty much every game at work using TVUPlayer. I'd say my favorite player is Ibrahimovic. Why? I don't know, I just like him. - Maengelito - 06-16-2006 G.Irish Wrote:Use the scroll wheel fool: http://mmsports.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4499 i suck at the intArdnet and yes T i dont follow soccer at all. i dont know players' names or which teams are good and which ones arent, but i do enjoy the world cup because its sorta like the olympics where the whole world drops everything to watch. i cant name one south korean player on the team, but i root for my slanty eye brothers. i only know a handful of americans, but yeah i'm disappointed that they didnt do well in their first match. i dont claim to be an expert, but i enjoy watching the games. - Feersty - 06-16-2006 Tivo crazed f00ls. |
