AMB Transponder Mounting - white_2kgt - 06-15-2006 Do you mount it upside down or rightside up? (the lettering). The wire on mine comes out the bottom which is why I ask. It is already mounted just wanted to make sure, ![]() Also, did you put yours on a switch or just hardwire it to the ignition switch? - .RJ - 06-15-2006 Mine is mounted so that the wire comes out of the top of the transponder, with 4x sheetmetal screws into the frame rail in the engine bay, next to the radiator. Its powered to the radio wiring harness and grounded on the frame. - white_2kgt - 06-15-2006 .RJ Wrote:Mine is mounted so that the wire comes out of the top of the transponder, with 4x sheetmetal screws into the frame rail in the engine bay, next to the radiator. I got it used so there was no manual. - .RJ - 06-15-2006 I think it does matter... but i bought mine used also - I'll look at mine tonight. - Evan - 06-15-2006 yes it matters. it needs to be pointed down, in clear view of the pavement. Its an inductive pickup. I believe there is an arrow on it. - white_2kgt - 06-15-2006 Evan Wrote:yes it matters. it needs to be pointed down, in clear view of the pavement. Its an inductive pickup. I know it is an inductive pickup, which is why I figured it DIDN'T matter. - Evan - 06-15-2006 cable should come out the top mine has an arrow but yours looks different so they may have redesigned it. I wired mine into the ignition - white_2kgt - 06-15-2006 I emailed AMB and they said wire goes up, thanks guys. |
