dyno day - l33t Mr2 - 05-26-2006 anyone intersted in finding a dyno and having a dyno day? maybe the will provide discounts? -matt - Evan - 05-26-2006 im down, provided its reasonably priced. im not tuning, i just want a baseline to see what kind of power ive got - Dave - 05-26-2006 there's a local guy in Elkton that has a mobile dyno. That would at least give you an idea of what you are doing. From what I remember, his prices weren't that bad. I can look into it some more, if you want. - HAULN-SS - 05-27-2006 Theres a guy in roanoke that has a dynojet - 75$ for 3 pulls - could do some slight tuning. I'm sure he'd work a deal for a group run. - D_Eclipse9916 - 05-27-2006 problem is some of us are awd.... - HAULN-SS - 05-27-2006 Disconnect the front transfer case - problem solved. ;x - lillitnn92 - 05-27-2006 i'd love to find out what i ended up with after the things i have done. no tuning for me either, just curious. - D_Eclipse9916 - 05-27-2006 HAULN-SS Wrote:Disconnect the front transfer case - problem solved. ;x Apparently, you REALLY dont know AWD. Lol. We cant do that. - l33t Mr2 - 05-27-2006 yea i guess if you can talk to that guy in elkton that would be cool.. what is a mobile dyno? -matt - white_2kgt - 05-27-2006 l33t Mr2 Wrote:yea i guess if you can talk to that guy in elkton that would be cool.. what is a mobile dyno? a mobile dyno is a dyno that isn't installed in ground. They are transported on the back of a truck or trailer and can be setup on site. Basically you drive onto a 4 post lift, raise up, back onto the rollers and go. They have them at the track sometimes (to verify your stated HP/TQ is what it really is) and I'll be doing my certified dyno run (for AI) on one next weekend at Carlisle. - Gs dewd - 05-28-2006 I'm down for that. Like to get a base on mine so I know where i'm at now. - l33t Mr2 - 05-30-2006 i am down with the mobile dyno, we should call that guy up and ask for pricing/group discount. - Jeff - 05-31-2006 How far off are you guys thinking? My engine just came back and once the internals are balanced (thanks tax check!!!) I should be back in business. I'd certainly be down. - HAULN-SS - 05-31-2006 I always heard mobile dynos were hit or miss for being calibrated correctly. I wouldnt put a ton of faith into the readings. - .RJ - 05-31-2006 All dynos are hit and miss for "numbers"...... they're tuning tools, nothing else
- HAULN-SS - 05-31-2006 how much tuning are you going to do on a mobile dyno on a dyno day, when it takes 20 minutes in strapdown/takeoff time? so, now that we've established you're going for the numbers - hope it reads high for ya'll (not being an ass..just saying) - DRYFT - 06-04-2006 I posted in the Lounge section, Id be happy to work out a permanent deal with MM for dyno days. - white_2kgt - 06-19-2006 DRYFT Wrote:I posted in the Lounge section, Id be happy to work out a permanent deal with MM for dyno days. What kind of dyno do you have? If dynojet model number please. - HAULN-SS - 06-19-2006 If you havent gotten it yet, i hear nothing but bad things about mustang dynos. - .RJ - 06-19-2006 HAULN-SS Wrote:i hear nothing but bad things about mustang dynos. Why? Mustang dynos are far more useful than dynojets, as it is a loading dyno rather than an inertia dyno. But its still up to the dyno operator/tuner to make the most out of the information. The dyno is just a tool, its up to the tuner to make the most of it. |
