Anti-NTC - PDenbigh - 04-28-2004

Guys, this is really off topic, but we're working on a project at WildWires. If you have a sec, take this survey: http://www.wildwiresonline.com/survey/

Not to bias your responces, but think of this as its coming from a company that might provide an alternative to NTC. Pass it along to your friends!

Thanks a bunch!

- Mike - 04-28-2004

Done. I am pretty happy with NTC, except my cable is kinda crappy.

- JackoliciousLegs - 04-28-2004

NTC internet sucks the big one and there service is non-existent

- Mike - 04-28-2004

P-Run is a special case regarding internet. I heard they beam the signal across 81 by satellite rather than use land lines. Can I get a confirmation?

I have never had to deal with their customer service so I really can't say whether it's good bad. Pete - perhaps you could include an option for "No opinion."

- JackoliciousLegs - 04-28-2004

It's not any different than the mill, but our internet was out for a good 2 weeks at the begining of the year. Commons had the same problem.

- .RJ - 04-28-2004

NTC service is the w0rst.

- Feersty - 04-28-2004

Their cable television sucks, No Chapelle.

- mrbaggio - 04-28-2004

<vent> taking away tech tv pissed me of (nerd)
and the JMU internet restrictions being passed on to NTC users sucks hard. O yeah and make sure you doing havea problem ever because a tech will never make it out and if they do they are too dumbto fix it.</vent>

Yeah and any problems you do have and "its JMU's fault".

I told them "but I wrote the check to you, either fix it or pay for my service for this month". They didnt get it.

Comedy Central is a premium channel. You cannot hold that against them, you are able to have it.

??

we are still on "the jmu network," why wouldn't we have the same restrictions?

- ViPER1313 - 04-28-2004

Comedy Central is available in the dorm rooms, and it's part of Adelephia's basic service........

- mrbaggio - 04-28-2004

I get comedy central and im with NTC.

Mike, my point is that I don't like the restrictions no matter where they come from.

-Justin

- Mike - 04-28-2004

Well blame JMU (mainly the idiots that don't know to use computers), not NTC.

What's funny is that in the Commons we got the premium for like a month and a half and then they suddenly turned it off. But yeah in Southview, Commons, and Stone Gate it is considered premium. Its $16.00 a month for the premium that gives you HBO, WB, and Comedy Central among others.

- Mike - 04-28-2004

They offered it free in hopes that you'd be enticed to buy it regularly.

- Evan - 04-28-2004

I have come to the conclusion that mass incompetence is rampant in any services based industry.
NTC blows ass, but it isnt any worse or better than verizon dsl, directv, or anything else i have used.

Are all the apartment complexes still behind JMU's firewall?

Yes, the JMU network is the JMU network. Granted it isn't JMU wire out here, but we all leave this town on the same pipes.

Damn it, I'm sick of being blocked from using Bittorrent and IRC, and I don't know if I want to pay for an HTTP tunnel....
