Honda Hatch Race Car FS - PDenbigh - 05-15-2006

For anyone interested, I saw this on the Nasaforums and thought of you:

Seems to be a pretty good car for $3k.

Hey mike.......

hi.

- Evan - 05-15-2006

just FYI,
this looks like a solid ITC car to race with SCCA,

but if you want to run H5 with honda challenge, SCCA/ITB is a faster class that fits into the NASA/H5 class.
H5 in this region is pretty competitive, so while this guy may have won in his region, it would be tough to be competitive in that car here in h5 (unless you put a ITB legal engine in it, which would be cheap)

- .RJ - 05-15-2006

The car is classed in ITB at a slightly higher weight and 5-speed trans - not as competitive than in ITC, but still cheap racing

- Kaan - 05-16-2006

Currently in ECHC, the H5 cars are not prepped nearly to their limits... a little better than this car... slightly more modern ... but it wouldnt take much to get this car up to full speed.

New shocks/springs... balance it, fine tune it, it didnt list its sway bar package, ... just little things... Sad i wish i had the $$$ for the truck and the trailor... it would make an easy HPDE car... those cars are virtually trouble free. Easy transition from HPDE to race... might even kick some ass in an Enduro.

I bet you could tow dolly that thing behind the hatch!

You could put $2k into it and have a top shelf ITC car.... LSD, FD, Shocks and metal bushings.

- Kaan - 05-16-2006

I can bet the prep in our region is not all out in our area. there are guys that arent using "coilovers" ... the shocks arent up to "race" standards, bushings, LSDs, etc. RJ is right... for $2k... you could have the best built H5 car locally... and a darn good ITC car.

my old and never used Neuspeed springs are going to one of the ECHC H5 guys... they put it together for cheap racing... plain and simple. Though i think through the years some of them are actually getting their cars into really good shape...

- .RJ - 05-16-2006

You would not finish up front in H5 I dont think - not with an ITC engine. Most of the H5 cars would fit into ITB in SCCA.

- PDenbigh - 05-16-2006

Heck, the cage alone is worth $2k.

- .RJ - 05-16-2006

The cage is a modified bolt in - you would eventually want to rip that out and put a real cage in, but to get started it should be ok.
