I'm not going to be homeless! - Hunter - 03-30-2006

Well gentlemen, today I was finally accepted to grad school. I'm going to be fully funded at dartmouth for mechanical engineering if I choose to go there. I haven't actually heard from any other schools yet, but dartmouth was my first choice so there's a good chance I'll be there.

Oh, and they have a pretty good formula sae team, I'm totally going to rag the piss out of their car.

- Andy - 03-30-2006

Congrats man. That's great news.

- Evan - 03-30-2006

congrats!

- ScottyB - 03-30-2006

nice going Hunter, i'm looking forward to seeing a picture of you in the SAE car up on two wheels with your hair on fire

- Chris - 03-31-2006

woo hoo!

we'll have to celebrate this weekend Tongue

Congrats man. How did you manage a full ride? You're a smart ass dude.

- Dragon - 03-31-2006

Congrats Hunter!

- Nick325is - 03-31-2006

Congrats Hunter!
Any plans for what you would want to do with that degree?

Nick

Congratulations on your accomplishment. Thats awesome that you are going to be fully funded. I'm going to VT next year for mechanical engineering and am still looking for funding Sad. besides being a great school, what made you pick dartmouth? I need to get some driving skillz, but maybe we will meet up again in the future if we both do formula sae. Best of luck in the future

- Mike - 03-31-2006

congrats! sounds like a blast! no hurry to get to the real world... i like it!

- Hunter - 03-31-2006

Real world? Isn't that some TV show? I don't want any part of that.

Anyway, I havent actually committed to dartmouth yet, I'm going to wait to hear from some other places before I decide. I was looking to focus on control systems while in grad school and the research that would fund me at dartmouth is focused on iterative learning control. It's essentially a control system that would measure the error as it works, then use that to correct itself for the next run, and so on and so on.

I was looking for a smallish engineering program, almost all of the "top teir" programs are fairly large and I just thought I would get more out of it at a smaller school. After visiting there I was really impressed with the school and the program and thats pretty much it.

Unfortunatly I won't be spending that much time at night up at summit this weekend. Theres a research conference here in ISAT tonight and I apparently have to give some bullshit presentations, and on saturday night I said I would help out with a retreat at the summer camp I work at. It's only like an hour from summit so it's not a bad commute. But I'll be at summit bright and early tomorrow morning, see you bitches there.

- Hunter - 03-31-2006

I'm pretty bummed about missing Vixens. Don't worry though, I'll be singing the strip club song all night anyway.

was probably mine from when i was handing out wads to people who wouldn't pay their own way to the shower room. where exactly did you find it?

- Feersty - 04-01-2006

Two strippers were standing between the bar and the railing. Shower room was to my front left about 25 feet. I was just walking by and saw it on the ground there. Picked it up slowly, intended for people to see I had it and then no one said anything so I put in my pocket. The strippers were talking to guys to the left and right of me as I squeezed through. I didn't see it drop or anything just saw it on the floor.
