What Mp3 playing software do you use? - WRXtranceformed - 03-25-2006 I'm seriously sick of Winamp. Ever since I updated to the latest version, it bugs out so hard on my computer. What are you guys using to listen to mp3s, watch Top Gear videos / pr0n, etc.? And please don't recommend ITunes to me, I hate everything Apple including that program. - Evan - 03-25-2006 Winamp. It really kicks the llama's ass. try downloading the "lite/minimal" release. It uses the classic interface which is much snappier, more memory efficient, and less bugs than the modern or whatever interface - WRXtranceformed - 03-25-2006 Evan Wrote:Winamp. QMP is the new beta version. this player was based off Winamp in the begining, but has taken on more of it's own programing. tons of skins and plugins like the others. build 109 of the beta is pretty stable for me. release version http://beta.quinnware.com/index.php betas <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://beta.quinnware.com/development.php">http://beta.quinnware.com/development.php</a><!-- m --> - Mike - 03-25-2006 winamp 2.91... after that it just got shitty. - ViPER1313 - 03-25-2006 <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.foobar2000.org/">http://www.foobar2000.org/</a><!-- m --> - Ryan T - 03-26-2006 I just use windows media player, never had a reason not too. - JackoliciousLegs - 03-29-2006 Winam 5 rocks out. Dunno what you all are talking about. Video is what WMP 9 is for and on the mac, quicktime of course. - JohnC - 03-29-2006 XMMS fools... - Mike - 03-29-2006 JackoliciousLegs Wrote:WVideo is what WMP 9 is for huh? for you personally? - JackoliciousLegs - 03-29-2006 Mike Wrote:Yes for me. ass.JackoliciousLegs Wrote:WVideo is what WMP 9 is forhuh? for you personally? - Jeff - 03-29-2006 lol! I still have that sound file on here somewhere "Winamp... it really whips the llama's ass" - Mike - 03-29-2006 JackoliciousLegs Wrote:Mike Wrote:Yes for me. ass.JackoliciousLegs Wrote:WVideo is what WMP 9 is forhuh? for you personally? i thought you were trying to come up with some odd jacko reason why nobody should use it for playing MP3s. - Sijray21 - 03-29-2006 iTunes - i really like the search function and organization - navin - 03-29-2006 Sijray21 Wrote:iTunes - i really like the search function and organization yep - i got no beef with Itunes... - Mike - 03-29-2006 itunes is a great idea, but an awful implementation. it is soooo slowwww and when it reorganizes your music it doesn't do a very good job. - ViPER1313 - 03-29-2006 Let me step up on my soapbox for a second... If you are a power user and want the best media player around, give Foobar a try. It plays every audio format known to man (way more than Winamp without plugins), has a completely customizable interface, allows you to convert files from one format to god knows what else, mass retagging and file renaming, just to name some of the features. Also allows you to search the freedb database for an album if it is not tagged correctly and it will tag it for you. No, its not pretty stock (there are tons of skins available though.) But it allows you to do way more than Winamp does audio wise (no video support.) Best of all, it's only a 1.5meg dl, free, and it doesn't put crap all over your system, steal your file associations, or phone home to AOL. - Mike - 03-29-2006 does it organize the music? have any sort of rating system? i enjoy using "party shuffle" set to play higher rated songs more often. gives me a variety, but all of songs i like. - ButtDyno - 03-29-2006 Winamp is way too keyboard-friendly to give up... - Mike - 03-29-2006 i REALLY wish winamp had a worthwhile rating scheme though. |
