I like my 4pts for now .--chad - .RJ - 01-25-2004 4 point belts? I hope you're joking. - Mike - 01-25-2004 Cool cool! I hope to get one soon! I'm having trouble picturing how a 4-pt belt works though, enlighten please! - .RJ - 01-25-2004 4 point belts are no good for anything but autocross. IF i had been wearing a 4-point belt when i tagged the wall at summit i would have been in a world of hurt. - Mike - 01-25-2004 I can see how they would give good left to right support, but front to back and you're fooked! - .RJ - 01-25-2004 Uh, yes. And the schroth belts are 2", which wont be as good as a proper 3" 5 point belt. (6 point is really what you should have). Without the sub belt, the lap belt can ride up and crush your organs in a frontal impact. I'm going to try to figure out how to modify the stock seat to mount a sub belt properly.... because wrapped around the front of the seat isnt the best way to do it either. - Mike - 01-25-2004 CUT! - Kaan - 01-25-2004 seems i'm in the market for the autopower too... where did you find it and the price? - Mike - 01-25-2004 Do a google search, they are everywhere. - .RJ - 01-25-2004 www.ioportracing.com - white_2kgt - 01-25-2004 .RJ Wrote:Uh, yes. I'm still not all that convinced that when properly worn and seated correctly a 4pt belt is going to 'submarine' on you. Regardless, they are my autox belts. I'm not buying 6pts until I get seats. I even had them installed at summit pt but didn't wear them. --chad - .RJ - 01-25-2004 Autocross those are fine. But dont wear those belts on track. I hit the wall at summit hard enough to give me whiplash - i am fairly certain thats hard enough to submarine under the belts. Its not just cc.com - its everywhere i've read anything about safety on track - crash data has also shown that a 6 point belt will reduce the impact on your body over a 5 point. - Team - 01-26-2004 Looks great
