so yeah...had this Olds 4-4-2 model sitting in my closet since i was 16. to me, 4-4-2's are the sweetest muscle cars of all time, no question. so, i had this model forever and decided it was time to get this bad boy done! its 98% finished as it is, so i figured i'd take some pics and show it off.
overall the kit assembly was OK, it's an AMT kit so the flashing on the plastic is always terrible. some parts were warped too. however, considering this is a beginner/intermediate kit i had no major gripes.
mods/custom:
- graphite metallic flake paint (exterior, dash) and red anodized finish paint (block/air cleaner/fan and center console)
- 18 in. Ferrari rims from some concept car, custom painted flat black/polished lip (for Feersty) with 335's out back
- stock W-30 engine package but with aftermarket headers and drilled side dumps, because real men love being deaf
- shortened springs, cut shocks, cut spindles for a scale 2-3" drop in ride height
- totally cut-out grill, steel-painted accents

there's still some crap to finish like mounting the side view mirror, plates and badges, wiring the spark plug wires and maybe a little more soot on the tips of the exhaust. ultimately i want to enter this in some local contests here in atl and see how i fare.

it really wasn't hard though, you just have to not chuck the thing across the room when you're trying to glue two tiny peices together!

I have 3 unfinished models at home and you have inspired me. A 32 Plymouth coupe with a 57 427 Hemi under the hood (I like modding them up too!!). A 1957 Chrysler 300c w/ a V10 down in it. A Dodge dart with the viper paint/wheel treatment (can you see that a viper model lost out in this?) I'm gonna bring the Chrysler up to school with me next week and work on it here. I've got some vette rims laying around. Do you have any cool, classic looking rims you would come off of cheap?

i have so much model crap i don't even know, haha. most of my old parts are still at home, which i'll gladly part out when i get a hold of them (butchered up classic kits, engines/frames/wheels mostly)
but for what i have right now, i certainly don't plan on using the stock 4-4-2 rims/tires...you're welcome to them if you want. maybe spot me shipping and they're yours?
